Because I like statistical based projections more than talking head predictions.

I'd take the 3 seed. It has AK getting 25 MPG, Pierce at 29.7, and KG at 25.

Kris (MPLS): Are you buying or selling the Nets?
Kevin Pelton (1:18 PM) : Probably neither buying nor selling. I think conventional wisdom on them is about accurate, though people might be slightly understating their potential in the playoffs if Garnett can ramp up his minutes after coasting through the regular season.

I thought this was an interesting tidbit from the article: "Furthermore, when Garnett and Pierce took the floor last season, the Celtics held opponents to just 96.1 points per 100 possessions, good enough to rank No. 1 overall on the defensive efficiency leaderboard."

Historically, when Garnett and Pierce are on the floor together, those lineups are ranked at or near the top of the league in point differential. This Nets team is deeper and more talented than any of the Celtics teams, and although Pierce and Garnett are older, I think this Nets team is going to be an absolute juggernaut on both ends of the floor.
