LOL, because Yahoo's opinion is so important.

But seriously, I could understand the argument for all of those teams over us, in a "they're better until proven otherwise" way...except the Knicks. How are they better? They were barely better than a much worse and less deep version of this year's Nets team.

And Kidd has to manage the egos of D-Will, Pierce, and KG? LOL, the toughest thing Kidd is going to have to do this year is explain to KG why he can't play in a back to back.

So, Bargnani is underachieving while Pierce/KG have egos but somehow the underachiever gets to be the player that sways the difference between the Knicks at 10 and the Nets at 11? Yeah, okay. Sure.

By far the laziest power ranking I've seen yet.

I admit I don't quite get the hype around the Pacers and particularly Paul George. He put up 19 and 7 in the playoffs, it's not like he was dropping 40 on the Heat.

Every year one guy goes off in the Playoffs and people freak out and act like he's a superstar. Before him it was JJ Barea, Goran Dragic and before them guys like Jerome James and Austin Croshere.

So they predict us to do worse than last year ? Last season the Nets had the 9th best record in the league without a real coaching staff a mostly miserable bench and 2 inapt starters at both forward spots.

The team now has improved in basically every aspect and will do worse ? Really ?

just like last year "adding joe johnson to a 22 win team somehow gets you to the playoffs?"

Yea, pacers are still going to have the worst offense of any playoff team even with the new additions. When it comes to the Pacers people don't like to look at the stats:

49 wins, worst fg% of any team that made it to the playoffs(.436, 28th in the league), 2nd worst 3pt% of any team that made it to the playoffs(.347, 22nd in the league), 28th in the league in APG, 21st in the league in least TOpg (14.5)which is a lot for their pace.

Memphis, 2nd worst offensive team that made it to the playoffs. Not better than us .

Also, the warriors? We had a better record then them last year, and we added much more to our team.

Your nothing till you prove something, according to yahoo I guess(except if your an exciting team).

I know people like to say (insert blogger/writer) hates the Nets, but Marc Spears genuinely has something against us.

He is always down on whatever we are doing. This ranking doesn't surprise me.

I don't really care about preseason power rankings that much.

There's nothing that can be done to change the power ranking until the games are actually played. If they want to peg us at 11th in the league, I guess we'll just have to go out and prove that we're much better than that (which shouldn't be that hard).

Don't see why some of you are getting up in arms. It's preseason rankings, heck I wouldn't be surprised if we do end up having the 11th best record in the league. Since KG and PP will have reduced minutes, sort of like the Spurs, just get to the playoffs and turn it up once we're there

blah, blah, blah...

Conservative based on new team, new pieces and age...I used to get hung up on preseason rankings, but especially this year, I have no interest.

I think on paper we are a top 10 team in the NBA, the fact that we are behind the Knicks is typical, but I do not believe Metta and Bargs make them better than us, in fact I actually prefer it this way.

Credit to Chris Mannix of SI ( I know you guys posted the cover), I get the mag and he has us ahead of both the Pacers and Knicks (3rd in East)...I'm only read a few of these rankings and Marc Spears is definitely not one of them...

Marc Stein/ESPN has us 7th in NBA

i STILL dont understand this line of thinking, like we become some scrub lottery team if pierce and KG have to sit....

Dwill/Johnson/Kirilenko/Blatche/Lopez w/ Livingston/Terry/Anderson/Mirza/Reggie off the bench is a 50+ win team in their own right. i dont think we will lose many games because of kg or pierce having to rest.

Eh, I would be completely shocked if this team doesn't have a top 8 record this year.

And winning 50 games could potentially leave us as the 11th best team in the league, it could happen. We won 49 last year and was the 4th seed and the 8th best record in the league. Depending on how competitive this year is, it could happen. I'm not saying we're a scrub team, but I think everybody should be more concerned about getting to the play-offs first and foremost. We're not gonna get top seed, so having the 11th best record and being in the play-offs is not that bad with perhaps a decent draw is what we need. We shouldn't be too concerned with our regular season record

thats my point, why would we only win 50 games? even if you sit KG/pierce your back ups are gonna win games. this team is winning 55-60+ games regardless of kg and pierce missing time.

finishing outside the top 8 record wise or winning less then 55 games would be an enormous shock

I agree with you, but I would be equally happy with the 11th best record in the league and a 3rd seed in the East. Which could happen

I'm not saying that as soon as this team reaches 50 wins we're gonna tank the rest of the way until the playoffs. It's reasonable to have the 11th best record in the league, to go along with a 3rd seed in the East. Which could happen depending on how good the top half of the West is this year.

Yes even with KG/PP on 30 mpg, our bench should be able to pick it up. My point is we shouldn't think too much of it, who cares what a pre-season power rankings think, and should it even come true as long as we get a 3rd seed in the East I'll be happy
