Outside of the game against the Jazz we have played with zero effort against these young teams. It's time to start stringing wins together.

Did we even play with good effort against the Jazz, lol? We blew them out by 16 points...that actually seems on the low side compared to how they've been losing to everyone else.
Our only impressive game so far is against Miami in our home opener. We need to bring that kind of game more consistently.

Yea, we did, the Jazz game was like a 30 point blowout until garbage time when the lead got cut and third string were playing.

The celtics (you know the team we traded Wallace and marshon brooks to in order to get KG and Pierce) have a better record then us, also beat miami(at home) and lead the atlantic division.
that is fng embarassing. i dont want to hear we have new guys, so do they. and most of our losses are to average or worse teams. this team needs to basically sweep this west coast trip to give its fans any kind of confidence in them.
I'm worried about this game especially, long layoff and first game on a cross country trip, and they have the size to match up with ours.

Phoenix has a better record than Miami, Clippers, Memphis, Minnesota, Houston, Chicago, Brooklyn and Golden State. Therefore Phoenix is better than all those teams and is favorite to win the championship.
Quit overreacting. There are 76 more games to be played and we knew coming into this season that Kidd's philosophy is to use the regular season as a preparation for the Playoffs. This team will be fine.

Preperation for the playoffs is not why we are losing. horrible no show efforts with terrible defense is why we are losing. and we will continue to lose until that changes. i dont see any reason why this team wont continue to give the lackluster underwhelming efforts we saw all last season, as no one new seems to have an issue with it

This should be an easy win (something I haven't said about any other game except maybe the Utah one).
We've had time to rest and regroup. I would hope we come out strong and put them away early.
Lopez should be able to get Cousins in foul trouble and KG will do his best to get in his head as well.

So, AK is going to miss all three games this week and won't even travel with the team.
I'm honestly more worried about his health than the team itself at this point. It's quite obvious when he was barely getting minutes trying to recover from these back spasms how valuable and awesome he is to have but I'm really not liking these setbacks he keeps having in less than 20 minutes of action.

Not worried in the least about the poor start....yet.
From my observations it really appears to be on floor communication on both sides of the ball. I dont think its as easy as to say hey look at some other teams who had lots of changes that have done better in their first 5-7 games. I can only look at what I see and I see a group of guys who have no rhythm with each other as of yet. I dont want to give excuses like this injury or the minutes of that guy or whatever.
I see hesitation. I see guys playing like they do in all star game. There are stretches where I see them play off talent alone and I go WOW! And then I see a group that looks lost just running up and down the floor trying to figure out...is it my turn?
I am fine with anyone here who is antsy and feels its effort. But I feel there are just things that havent clicked yet.
You know....the first year the Heat made it to the finals and lost to Dallas I remember thinking all year they were a really talented "bad team". Emphasis on the true meaning of TEAM. Having a couple of superstars helped them overcome what they didnt have in chemistry all the way to the finals where they lost to a less talented group of players who were far more in sync. We dont have that level of LBJ/Wade-esque talent at the top of our roster so if we are going to contend we MUST get the chemistry down cold. Its the totality of our guys that makes us special.
I dont expect to see consistent ball until January the earliest.

E's back!
I'm feeling good about this West Coast trip, not so much in the sense that I think we'll win 3 in a row but in the sense that we'll see strides in our offensive and defensive execution.
Whether that amounts to 2 or 3 wins, I don't know but seeing any sort of rhythm/continuity would be great.
The one thing that does bother me a bit is Kidd. Here's a quote from Bondy's most recent article about the Nets:
Kidd, meanwhile, was still preaching patience Tuesday, downplaying Brooklyn’s uneven start as a product of shots not falling. If you’re looking for panic, passionate speeches or bold statements, certainly don’t look at Kidd. His tone has yet to change in his debut season as a coach.

So far I've been unable to tell whether Kidd is intentionally playing dumb or is really not seeing what's causing problems. He keeps saying that our problems are due to 'shots not falling' but that's clearly not the problem.
We're shooting 44.9% FG%(15th in the league) on 80.2 FGApg (22nd in the league).
The Pacers and the Heat are last in the league on FGApg. IND shoots 76.4 FGApg and MIA shoots 74.8 FGApg but we all know that the Pacers overcome their lack of FGA by playing great defense and keeping their opponents from scoring a lot while the Heat are just super efficient with their shot selection.
(FYI - MIA shoots 52.5% FG which is #1 in the league. The #2 team is the GSW at 49.3%. MIA has a whopping 3.7% FG% difference between them and the 2nd place team.)
Until we can become elite at one particular aspect of the game or very good at several aspects I think we'll struggle. It's not as easy as Kidd's making it out to be.

if kidd isnt going to motivate, inspire, or lead i really fail to see his role on the team. its like he is trying to keep the calm on a team full of guys that wouldnt panic or could care less if we were 0-39.
it was awesome when KG was pissed and called the team out. but you cant count on that 25-30 times a year. you really need the coach to start motivating these players....not give them the joe torre treatment

This is a must win. Enough with the excuses we have the talent to beat these teams even without the chemistry being perfect.

We currently rank 24th in ORtg and 15th in DRtg.
Once we reach elite status in offense which starts with Deron, I think the team will begin to take off. Then, we should hopefully see less jumpers and more finishing.

I think KG would be more comfortable playing center like he has the past couple years. Our defense would improve with him as the defensive anchor. The problem with that is Brook is to slow to guard a forward.

We have severely underused our perimeter players in the post. D-Will, JJ, and Pierce should all have size mismatches pretty much every night.
