Eh...I don't believe it.
We have no assets to give TOR and pretty sure we don't have a player that he wants.
Unless for some weird reason, he really likes TT I think this is just Isola including extra teams for hits.

Re: Nets Interested In Kyle Lowry
Maybe if this was BC, we could have duped them into trading Lowry for garbage...but Masai is smart, he'd actually look to rob us.
Would probably take our next available 1st rounder from us (2019), including some pick swaps for beyond that.
But interestingly enough, Terry+Evans works salary-wise. I remember that was a package we were seriously looking to ship out. It's garbage, and we have no picks in the foreseeable future that we could sweeten the deal with, but what the hell.
Maybe guys like Teletovic, Toko, Bogs, and Taylor are involved? IDK, none of those guys really have all that much trade value, and I'm pretty sure Lowry could get the Raptors better deals from the other interested teams.
Doubt it happens, as much as I would LOVE for it to happen, since Lowry would be a great addition to our team.

Good backup PG but of its for picks then no thank you. Our future is already pickeless. If things go downhill I don't want to suffer long lol.

Re: Nets Interested In Kyle Lowry
Brought this up the minute Gay was traded.
Would be a great insurance policy for Dwill and backup. Would not give up any 1sts if we can even trade the 2019 pick?
Would trade Mirza, Toko, Taylor, etc. Mirza, Reggie and a 2nd works financially. I think Plumlee and one of those pieces could get it done since hes shown some flahes and with the way his brother has flourished with the opportunity in Phoenix.
I'm leaning towards not wanting to include him. He's shown flashes of good play, is athletic, soft hands and can finish around the basket well. Wish someone would teach him to box and that you can't get rebounds simply by out jumping people. Also a midrange game would be nice, but I don't expect that will happen.
Working in our favor is he's expendable for Toronto, they're tanking and most teams going to overpay for a half season rental besides us. What we have to offer isn't great, but they might not get a whole lot. If the Knicks offer THJR, Shumpert or a 1st they can have him.

Judging from a few tweets, looks like Toronto is salary dumping.
We could get him by trading Terry + another player.
Seems like the Knicks have more for Toronto to sqeeeze the life out of though.

Lowry is an expiring contest. Terry has another year of horrible play. That would be an absolutely horrendous trade for them.

Not really. Terry is out and unknown to when he'll return which helps their tank.

Re: Nets Interested In Kyle Lowry
I'm interested but really what you guys said, what could we offer? Terry, Taylor, Evans, Mirza are best "assets" and no way would I think of offering the 2019 pick. Jesus.... 2019, to put it in perspective, my unborn son (due in February) will be 5 years old by the time the Nets pick in the first round again.
But yeah I'm interested in Lowry, who knows with billy king magic. Just not more first rounders!

Re: Nets Interested In Kyle Lowry
i just dont see how it fits into the rotation or the point of getting another backup PG when we have livingston. Lowry can start on other teams that probably have a lot more to offer, and im sure the knicks would be more willing to offer up pieces for him than we can cause they desperately need a good PG

Re: Nets Interested In Kyle Lowry
I would love to have lowry here but we dont have anything to give. Bogdanovic is our most high value asset other than the core, and I dont think its worth it to trade his rights for Lowry. Teletovic, Reggie, and tyshawn is the only other package I see which could work if Masai rates Teletovic and Tyshawn highly.

Re: Nets Interested In Kyle Lowry
Lowry is supposed to be insurance for Deron because Livingston (or Tyshawn) isnt good enough to start. I would also think that Lowry would play in a small lineup with deron.halfHAVOC wrote:i just dont see how it fits into the rotation or the point of getting another backup PG when we have livingston. Re: Nets Interested In Kyle Lowry
I always liked the idea of Lowry coming over but that scenario was a trade of dwill for Lowry AND A MUST DeRozan....
so since that's unlikely, i find our name being thrown out there useless... no trade pieces IMO and we have more of a hole to fix/patch up at SF than PG while still having Dwill n SL already...

Re: Nets Interested In Kyle Lowry
Don't get me wrong...having Lowry as a backup would be great.
He is a consistent threat from deep (unlike Livingston), can heat up really quickly, attacks the basket, and is above average playmaker.
If you can get him for Mirza, Taylor, and Terry/Plumlee (while taking back one of their 3rd string bigs), I'd do it in a heartbeat.
I just don't think they want those players especially without getting a 1st round pick from us.
If we're involved, it's gotta be a multi-team trade IMO.

Re: Nets Interested In Kyle Lowry
Would Spurs take Mirza for a 1st round pick? They definitely like Mirza and he is the kind of player you can see thriving in the Spurs system.

Re: Nets Interested In Kyle Lowry
He is our only valuable asset aside from the core so it would make sense. Im not sure though if I'd trade Bogdanovic for Lowry, bogdanovic is having a great year and is in a ideal contract situation for us.CalamityX12 wrote:Bontemps mention Masai is watching the Fenerbache game....
