WT: Raps still looking to move lowry
http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/23 ... Kyle-Lowry
really wish we could come up with something to land the guy. he is really exactly what we need. a backup PG who can score, start if needed, lead the second unit and play tough defense.
Evans, Bogs rights, plumlee? would that get it done?

I'm not giving that up for Lowry.
Dude is a good player, so overrated though.

theres teams out there that want him as a starter, i think hes a starting PG on a solid team...dont see us pulling him in nor do we need him.

i think he is a great but not elite role player. similar to a healthy kirilenko, and at what is probably our biggest position of need right now

Re: WT: Raps still looking to move lowry
Raptors fans believe him to be their best player and all star worthy. Knowing Ujiri, he'll want a lot for him as well. I would probably trade Bogdanovic's rights at this point for Lowry, because I'm unsure if he'll even come over next off season, and he has hit a serious bad patch in the last month. He's really struggling right now. Ujiri will want more but I'd probably do Terry + Bogdanovic for Lowry.

So would I. But I don't see how Terry is "more" in addition to Bogs. He would be just their replacement guard. And I doubt anyone would want Terry....but it would be hella nice to see him go.
Lowry is playing slightly better than dwill now and he would be great insurance if dwill went down again.
If we're going to have Pierce and AK next year, I don't see how Bogs will get any burn.
I would rather see Bogs go than Plumlee now. I wouldn't offer any picks either.
Lowry would be that offensive explosion off the bench and would allow dwill and Livingston to be starters. Then bring Lowry off bench for Livingston, let Lowry and Dwill play with each other for bit, then sub out dwill for Anderson.
Close games with your dwill, Lowry, Johnson, Pierce, Garnett lineup.

Re: WT: Raps still looking to move lowry
Terry is included for salary matching purposes. I know he sucks and no one would take him. But Im not giving Mirza, Bogdanovic + fillers for Lowry. Giving away Mirza would kinda defeat the purpose.

This is very true, I would rate his performance over anyone elses from tonight's game.
31-7-5-5..wow.
However, honourable mention to Paul Pierce, all I can say is Kudos. He's outlasted Vince, Tmac, even Kobe and he has done it with grit.

probably that delusional trade scenario. And who said Lowry is a backup pg? more like a booked all-star who just torched the nets.

That "delusional" trade scenario was on the table and the Nets decided not to pull the trigger at the time.

Re: WT: Raps still looking to move lowry
Don't want to give all our assets for Lowry.
He is going to want a big pay day after the year he has had, something I don't think we will want to give.
Not sure what the Raptors are going to do because I'm not sure they are going to be willing to pay Lowry what he thinks he deserves. If they do pay him they will have little cap room and most likely be stuck around mediocre to slightly above mediocrity.
I think there will be better deals to made this deadline.

Re: WT: Raps still looking to move lowry
the stein rumor about lowry is a bit perplexing. i think ujiri will listen to all offers but i don't think we are "still looking to move him". the huge hug lowry + ujiri had after the game yesterday would indicate otherwise.
i place his value right now at 4 years, anywhere from $36-42 mil.

Like I said, Raptors wouldn't take it, and its pretty much what we can offer, so what's your point?advaita wrote:DarkXaero wrote:What exactly are you referring to?cbosh4mvp wrote:

The only long term contracts we have is derozan ross and valancuinas. We have capspace even if we resign lowry.

first of all lowry is playing a lot better than dwill right now.. and second, if you're trading for lowry to have him as your backup, you're asking for a lot of trouble. The primary reason previous teams traded him was due to the fact that he doesnt want to come off the bench.. mix that with a rookie coach and yea i dont see that ending too ideally
