in our last 10 games:
5-5 record
Losses to the bulls, pistons, pacers, thunder, raptors
wins over the bobcats, pelicans, 76ers, spurs(depleted), celtics
scoring 95.9 ppg
allowing 98.9 ppg
I think it is safe to say that we are no longer playing good basketball. our defense has regressed back to the norm as has our 3 point shooting. The starting lineup defensively has not been the same without anderson. I think this is a real cause for concern, and i think kidd or king has t make a change or we may fall out of the playoffs. here are our next 10 games:
@jazz
@warriors
@lakers(B2B)
@blazers
@nuggets(B2B)
@Bucks
Bulls
Grizzlies
@Celtics
Kings
7 road games, 2 back to backs and some good teams. @GS and @blazers look like losses at @nuggets on a back to back is about as close to a sure loss as you can get on that trip. bulls will take our lunch again and the grizzlies probably win as well.
im thinking at BEST we come out of that 5-5. and 2-8 wouldnt be unheard of. this next 10 game stretch is our season imo.

Re: Our Last 10 games... next 10 games...
I think problems actually started after we beat the Knicks on Jan. 20th.
After that game, I remember the guys talking about how they turned it around since the new year and with the media actually starting to talk about us again, I believe it started to go their heads (especially with how we beat the Knicks).
We beat ORL by 11 on January 21st but I didn't like what I saw. Of course, people will say "A win is a win" but when you start forgetting the principles that helped you go on a 9 game winning streak, you're bound to start playing worse.
The next game we beat Dallas by 1 point. I remember that game like it was yesterday.
This the game in which Tele went nuts and I said while it's great that Tele is bombing away and D-Will was scoring a lot, our offense in general was lackluster and we didn't play as if we had a system. Sure enough, Dallas nearly stole the game from us because Tele couldn't sustain the hot shooting for an entire game. IMO, we kinda had some timely calls that went in our favor that prevented Dallas from really taking control of the game.
Again, it was another game where the box score doesn't really tell the whole story.
The next game was against the Celtics. Yeah, it was an emotional game for Pierce and KG being back in Boston. I can understand why they played like crap.
However, D-Will (came off the bench) played 34 minutes. He had 7pts (3/8 FG, 0/2 3PTFG) and 7asts.
JJ played 24min. 6pts (2/7 FG, 1/3 3PTFG) and 6rebs.
Brooklyn's Backcourt, the max players who are expected to ball hard every night, had 13 total points for the entire game.
Pierce & KG? They had 12 points but at least they had an excuse for why they played so poorly.
Yes, we won the game but for a team is supposed to have so much talent, how can you only beat the Celtics by 6 points?
Why do we depend on KG and Pierce for winning games? Where are our star players?
The next game was the TOR game and we all remember what happened there. It was the Lowry show and repeated displays of low BBIQ throughout the entire game. D-Will's TO at the end of the game was perfect symbol of how we played most of that game.
We then get destroyed by OKC by 25pts at home even though we had 3 days off between the TOR game and the OKC game.
I won't go through the rest of the games but these last 12 games haven't been good.
The bottom line is this....
D-Will and JJ are players with star abilities but have supremely weak will-power.
I know we rip D-Will for his play and rightly so but I feel like JJ is just as bad.
JJ is the 2nd highest player in the league. Since he's been here, he's only had one stretch of good play when he was made the 2nd option.
When he had that 3pt barrage, I half-joked that he should save some offense for the next games because he was bound to go back to playing like crap again. Sure enough, 10 days later JJ goes on a 5-game single-digit point scoring streak.
I don't know how these guys can look themselves in the mirror, wear "Brooklyn" on their chests, and be content with playing like crap all of the time.
It's sad that the Nets who I have the least problems with were all free agent acquisitions this year (KG, Pierce, AK, and AA) with the exception of Tele and Plumlee (who was this year's draft pick).
The core of this team is so mentally and physically fragile and it really bothers me.
I never know when D-Will, JJ, and Blatche are going to show up. In fact, more times then not I can count on a non-star like performance from these guys.
They're not taking things seriously. They're treating this like it's a side job.
I've mentally checked out a while ago. I don't watch full games because my expectations are never met and I rarely feel like going to watch a game in person because that would require me to be fully invested in a game at which the players themselves aren't fully invested.
D-Will and JJ should be absolutely ashamed of the effort (or lack thereof) that they put forth on a daily basis. I look forward to the day when they're both off of the team and we can actually have players who will give a damn.

Re: Our Last 10 games... next 10 games...
im not gonna kill johnson because i think he gives us about what he is capable of giving us and tries on defense. i think dwill is giving us roughly 1/4 of what he is capable and he gives us nothing on defense
but mroe importantly, we can still win with JJ playing how he has. we cant win with dwill playing how he has. either way, they are both average players who are killing us, especially dwill because he prevents us from having above average team defense when he is on the floor and his offens ehas been brutal.
id go back to anderson starting over dwill. its the only time this year we looked like a decent team, cause even if the offense sucked we were capable of defending and getting stops.

Re: Our Last 10 games... next 10 games...
how awful have we been with both Dwill n Shaun in the starting lineup.... Cuz its been awful and a determent for our gameplay IMO...
Send Dwill back to the bench.... the offense was flowing MUCHHHHH better with Shaun and X at the backcourt... Dwill off the bench was working.....

Re: Our Last 10 games... next 10 games...
Meh, you're not using context here, yet again.
FOUR of those five losses are on second nights of a back-to-back, which doesn't exist during the playoffs.
The only loss that wasn't on the second night of a back-to-back was against Thunder.. Well, that's usually how it goes against the Thunder.
I do agree that the next ten games will basically decide if we'll be in the running for the 3rd seed or not.

whats the excuse for back to backs? Guys cant get a breather?
Starters left early vs Bobcats, what happen vs Bulls?
Think back to backs are bad, just wait til the playoffs...

Re: Our Last 10 games... next 10 games...
Some of us already saw this happening going all the way back to the wins over Dallas and Boston when we looked incredibly terrible and were bailed out by Mirza's career night or how bad the Celtics are. They seem to be content with 2014 and being 14-5. They don't play with the same urgency they showed during the streak of wins against GS, Miami, Atlanta, etc.
It also doesn't help that our own coach doesn't seem to preach urgency by resting KG every single time we have a back to back and all of these shortened minutes. It's like they don't take the regular season seriously at all and it will be a rude awakening when they get to the playoffs and end up running into a team that is well prepared and we aren't by our "veteran coasting" logic and just "trying to stay healthy" logic.
At Utah is a must win game, IMO. We could very well lose the rest of the games on that road trip. The Warriors is a guaranteed loss barring any injuries to their frontcourt, the Lakers aren't a guaranteed win because of their 3 point shooting, Portland and Denver are too deep, potent and talented for our roster of inconsistent players and Milwaukee has been competing pretty well lately.
There is no excuse for Kidd's BS resting strategy after all-star break. I don't want to see it. This is the most important stretch for this team. Period. If they continue to play like dogsh*t on the road, we aren't going to make the playoffs.

Re: Our Last 10 games... next 10 games...
I'd love to see this team get rid of Blatche. I'd prefer playing Plumlee over him. At least you'll get energy and effort. Yes Blatche scores, but for every basket he scores he gives up two on the defensive end. and sprinkles in a bone headed play.
You see it every game. Bobcats game Jefferson had 2 points in the first half of the first quarter. In the 2nd half of the opening quarter when Blatche comes in he scores 9 points. Last night KG was a big interior presence forcing turnovers, bad shots, etc. The Bulls took it to the rim every time he was out and scored successfully. He's a terrible man defender. He just gambles for steals, routinely is out of position, and in general is soft. He is a horrendous help defender. Often misses rotations or is late. And when he is late he commits these soft ass fouls that result in a number of And 1s. Everytime he's out there we allow easy buckets, its like a layup line.
The dude over dribbles on offense thinking he's A.I with these crossovers. And these 3's come on man you're a terrible 3 point shooter. At the All Star break he's taken 15 more 3's than he did all of last year hitting on just 24%. But Kidd thinks its good that he does that because it spaces the floor? The other teams just give him that shot. You're not spacing the court if no one respects your outside shoot and you continue to brick them.
Good teams will continue to exploit this every time this bum is on the court.
Christmas Day against the Bulls in a 17 point loss: KG +1, Blatche -16. 1/11 shooting
Last night: KG +6, Blatche -22
His play has been pathetic the entire season as I've brought up many other times. And Kidd is to blame largely too. This scrub has been given the longest leash on the team. He's deserved to have been bench so many times for taking 3's, fadeaway 15 footers early in the shot clock, blown defensive assignments.
This team needs a defensive anchor off the bench if Kidd is going to continue playing KG on this minutes restriction.

exactly...exactly especially when:
1) we have a ton of back to backs left
2) we have played poorly in the front end of back to backs as well
we are no longer playing like we did in early january. we have been average or worse the past 10 games
