Pierce? i know he has been a great leader for us but him in the top 20 is just silly. and there are players on this team who have been better this year, let alone the rest of the league

Even though he is not prime Super Star Truth any longer at age 36 1/2, carefully look at his advanced stats (posted by me in the Paul Pierce thread a few days ago) since 12/1/2013 & especially during 3/2014 & since the ASG. All Star level at least - & only scoring 14+ PPG cause he is playing ~27-28 mpg (compared with ~34 last season), taking ~8-9 FGAs per game (compared with ~14-15 last season) & his usage % is ~22+% (compared with ~27-28% last season). Add in his fabulous leadership & great D at the 4. And about every 4 games, when needed, he has been very aggressive & scored 18 to 33 points (17 out of 68 games) - at an incredibly efficient rate.

Not saying JJ has not had an excellent year or that DWill has not really stepped up of late - but Paul EVEN at age 36 1/2 is definitely in the conversation at 18-25 - a testimony to the awesome durability of his HOF excellence as he ages. Freaking Paul George's advanced stats since 1/1/2014 are abysmal (I posted a comparison recently) - and look where he was ranked.

That said, this team would not have posted an EC best 30-12 record in 2014 without ANY of Paul, JJ, or DWill leading the charge.
