If Miami beats the Wiz tonight, the Nets clinch the 5 seed..
If the Wiz beat the Heat (rumor has it that Bron may sit?????), then the Nets will clinch the 5 seed by stomping those pathetic cock suckers at Barclays tomorrow.
PS: I have hated the KnUcks much longer than you guys having grown up in Manhattan as a Celtic fan & as a multi-decade Celtic fan. LOL. Also I have always hated the Yankees. :o).

I want to see Paul make a few 'painless' 3s tomorrow to reassure us after yesterday's umpteenth recurrence of his compressed cervical nerve/stinger. He also needs only 3 points to become the sixth player in NBA history to score >1000 points for 15 consecutive seasons - another awesome milestone after becoming the 18th player to pass 25K points last Friday. Did you know that Paul has the fifth leading TS% (57%) among the Top 18 scorers in NBA history (only behind Reggie, Kareem, Shaq & Dirk)? And that 9 of those 18 are bigs & that Paul is a freaking Wing! Surreal.

Rooted for both the Nets and Knicks before the merger.

Hate the Knicks since then.

Used to hate the Celts and Auerbach and his damn stogies (sorry "Excul"). Later grew to tolerate them when I moved to New England in the 80s during the Bird era and even used to root for them against L.A.

Used to be a big Yankee fan. Oddly I got to be so by watching their games on Ch 11 to see how the pennant race was going during Yaz's Impossible Dream (I pulled for the Sox that one and only year). You can have Baseball now, tho'.The strike year ('94?) pretty much left me behind for good.

1. Heat rolling over w/o Bron/Bosh & the Wiz are stomping them. Pacers will be the 1 seed.

2. Wiz will crush the Celtics on Wed. Hence, Nets MUST beat the KnUcks (or the Cavs) to clinch the 5 seed. Everyone needs to play & take care of business - rest VS the Cavs.

3. Raps crushing Mil & the Bulls will beat the Magic tonight. In order for the Bulls to get the 3 seed, 2 things must happen on Wed that are not at all givens: A) Bulls must beat the Cats who are fighting for the 6 seed; & B) KnUcks must beat the Raps at MSG.

This will be the Knicks championship game. The only thing left to play for is the series win against the Nets. Hope the Nets show some urgency in this one. Still playing for that 5th seed!

Im always against tanking of any kind, but would it be that bad if we lose both of our last games? In terms of playoff seeding it is. It would be bad for our rhythm, but if we do and Wiz win their last game, we would be the 6th seed, playing Raps in first round and potentially Heat in second, which in my opinion is more exciting outlook than Bulls and Pacers who are exactly the opposite teams for us, in regards of style.

Would really hate losing to the Knicks tho. I have sinned this season, by missing a few games in April, and one of them was the last Nets Knicks game that I just did not watch after I saw the result ( one of few games I was unable to watch live).

Treat this as a playoff tune up. Play the playoff rotation.

Yeah, I'm not so sure that this isn't the best course of action. I'd hate to play the Bulls in the 1st round again.

Besides, part of me thinks it better to treat this game vs the Knicks as a "meaningless game'.

Battle for New York? We don't care about that. WE IN THE PLAYOFFS *****

Here is the problem: We've gotten 22% of our offense in the new year by forcing TOs and that's basically what our defensive goal is to mask the rebounding issue.

The Nets have only 14% of their offense from TOs against the Raps because they don't turn it over a lot. They've also gotten 9 three point attempts per meeting which isn't good. The Nets biggest defensive weakness is three point defense.

The Bulls shoot the least threes and we've forced our league average of points off turnovers against them.

So basically, do you want a offensive team with weakish D that can potentially expose your defense or a defensive team that is child's play offensively but can expose your offense.

After that, Miami/Indy is the same issue assuming we make it past the first round. Indy is turnover prone and a bad offensive team but can outrebound you vs a weak rebounding Miami team that is capable of explosive runs.

This is the Knicks biggest game of the year! Their Superbowl!

Rest Pierce, anderson, and Livingston even if they have excessive gas.

I would rest JJ too, he hasn't had a day off in a long time.

Give me teague!

See, I don't view the Bulls as a "defensive team that is child's play offensively". I see them as a defense that can blanket our offense, and while their offense is inept...their advantage upfront (especially with Noah) gives them 2nd chance opportunities while at the same time limiting ours.

Deron, Joe and Paul are all GTDs. We could potentially see a Gutierrez, Teague, Thornton backcourt rotation.

Looks like the Nets are trying to move down to the 6th seed.
