Realistic options to move deron williams?

Realistically, what would it take to move him? is the best we can do someone elses bad contract? would we have to give someone plumlee/pick/bogs in order to take williams off our hands? now that amares deal is almost up and joes is down to 2 years williams has the worst contract in the NBA. :banghead:

and at 30 years old, it wont be easy to move him. What team has someone on a bad contract that runs maybe a year shorter? maybe something like plumlee and williams for eric gordon or tyreke evans?

honestly looking through all 30 teams the only other 2 guys i could come up with are javale mcgee and rudy gay. and neither team needs a PG

No GM with a shred of intelligence would trade for this sack of **** player.

We are stuck with him, and he'll continue to drag this franchise into the toilet as his skills deteriorate.

I am so DONE with this dude. He has done nothing but brought this franchise grief.

I would also like to move him but i see no realistic options given his contract and to be honest his talent level. He is in a zone where he is too good to be traded for spare parts but not valued enough to bring back a big piece, with that said id be happy with him on our team ( because salary does not matter to mikey p ) I'm just tired of the excuses and him laying on the floor wincing every time someone breathes on him

I was passively watching your board for a while and I really don't understand such hatred aimed at D-Will. Sure, he did not have good game last night, but is all this a bit too harsh? He was the key in both of your two wins and he is still a very good player.

Other question mark I have is criticism of Kidd for not playing KG more?!? As Raptors fan I wish he plays 48 minutes. With all due respect to his amazing career, he is not bringing anything for Nets (lots for us though ;)). So what is that he brings to the table in this series, so you want him to play more? I really don't see that?

Plumlee and Marcus are two huge disappointments for me as basketball fan (but not as a Raptor supporter). I watched Nets a lot during the season and I cannot recognize these two (that can be said for Blatch, maybe not so bluntly but still).

Because he doesn't play with passion on a consistent basis, and even when he does, he's just not that great of a player on a consistent basis. He's injury-prone as hell, and he constantly folds every time we need him to step up.

He just hasn't come CLOSE to meeting the expectations he had coming in. We gave up so many assets for him, and we gave him such a huge contract, and he's answered that by being a sulky, mentally weak, heartless, mediocre PG year in and year out. And every year, there's a different excuse for why he plays like ****.

We were expecting a star, and instead he's played like a role player. That's why we hate him. The amount of PGs I'd take over him is way too long for a guy who's making 20 million a year and for who we traded premium assets for.

deron williams is awful and has been awful for 2 years. max contract and not a top 15 PG. he playd horrible and is the main reason we lost the 2 games we did. he has had 1 good game this series....

but the biggest thing is, he is just a dog who doesnt play hard. no fan is ever gonna root for someone who doesnt play hard.

As far as Garnett, of course we want him on the floor. he is a +21 in the series and has been positive every game. and when he and val are both on the floor the nets are a +19 overall, and KG positive in that matchup every game as well.

So clearly, he is helping us when he is out there... or at the very least, our 5 man units with him on the floor are playing well.

Plumlee has been beyond terrible, and blatche bad in 3 of 4 games. of course we want KG

If Houston loses their 1st round series, they could get desperate and look to make a move for a PG.

D-Will is from Texas so he could be ok with as well.

You get much especially considering he has a trade kicker. Also they would never do it, because then it would show failure and heads will start to roll and Nets cant really afford to rebuild since they have no draft picks.

Dude, it's not really about being a better team right now, because we don't really have much of a ceiling anyway. The reason that deal works so well for us is because Lin's and Asik's contracts expire after next year, meaning we get 20+ million off the cap for the 2015-2016 season. That's HUGE in terms of getting under the tax threshold.

The only reason to have held onto D-Will this year is if our ceiling was championship, and it's becoming increasingly obvious that it's not. So we need to trade him.

The fact of the matter is we are not trading any of our core players. We would not get anything near their worth in today's NBA. Teams are too frugal, which is why draft picks are so valued.

We are going to ride these old stallions until their contracts run out. Management wants to stay competitive and I think we will be around a 45 win team until these contacts run out.

1) if you get bounce in the first round of the playoffs 2 years in a row, that already shows you are a failure. especially if your star player stinks up the joint. there are reasons id listen to for holding on to him... "admitting failure" is 110% NOT one of those reasons.

2) you dont need draft picks to rebuild. I mean you can rebuild with draft picks, it certainly helps, but being a big market with cap room and trade assets is really what you need. I mean, we can outright sign kevin durant if he chose to come here. that would make for a pretty easy rebuild.

3) we are going to need to rebuild either way. KG retired, pierce expires. the next year Johnson and Lopez expire. its inevitable

Only way we rebuild is if Prokorov buys the Clippers and forces some trades to the Nets.

a rebuild is inevitable. there is no way this team is extending johnson, lopez, or williams. and KG is retiring next year or the year after.

We will rebuild....through free agency. The more Deron stinks, the more likelihood of a rebuild for a real superstar.

Depending on how this series goes, I think the Nets would be willing to take .75 cents per dollar in order to trade D-Will.

You know it's bad when Kidd and company are saying "Hey, there's nothing that JJ could do" and Pierce has strong game and the only other max player on the team is out there scrubbing it up.

I'm kinda hoping that IND, DAL, and HOU lose just so that it increases the chances that one of these 3 teams will take him off of our hands and take the challenge of getting D-Will to play like a star again.
