Brooklyn signed Jerome Jordan a center born in Jamaica. He's moved around a lot'drafted by the Bucs then traded to NY where he played 21 games I remember watching him play there.
Word is he's a favorite of Lionel Hollins who coached him briefly in training camp with Memphis.
He also played in the D League and overseas.

Hamaday N'Diaye played for Senegal in the world cup to training camp 6-11 shot blocker.

No we just don't have a clear 3rd option in the center position.
Either Hollins does a Brook than Plumlee, Brook than KG... We still need a third center option

Yeah, pretty sure they are looking at possible third options at center. Question is, IIRC, our roster is full except for the partial guarantee contracts of Jefferson and Gutierrez. I'm guessing Gutz loses out if the team felt the need to add a third center on the roster.
PG - Deron, Jack, Teague, *Gutierrez
SG - Joe, Anderson, Karasev, Brown
SF - AK, Bogdanovic
PF - KG, Mirza, *Jefferson
C - Lopez, Plumlee
That's 13 guaranteed and 2 partials.

I say we drop Gutz as much as I like him over Teague, but if we keep him we are too heavy in the back court.
We need more 3rd strong options in the back court

we need the depth at center now that KG looks to be a PF under hollins. id assume from what the team said, plumlee may see a few minutes at the 4 as well. you need someone behind plumlee/brook at center with brooks health concerns.

Are we able to sign both guys? Or just 1, especially since i can see our big men are injury prone and limited minutes wise

Can't sign both unless we waive two other guys.

Guts is going to be waived, he has no place here with Teague actually being owed money otherwise dude would probably outplay him in camp and earn the spot. The 6-11 guy from Senegal looks intriguing.

I think these 2 signings are to strengthen the team's front court, they could use both of them in my opinion.
Mirza and Plumlee both lack rebounding skills.
Last year Mirza played best at small forward and team defense helped mask his lack of footspeed.
Plumlee is great running the floor utilizing his athleticism.
Brook should be better on the boards since the team needs that from him and these 2 guys + KG should help toughen him up.

IMO one of these guys, unless another household named big signs for camp, will be on 15 man squad.
BKing and Hollins has made it clear that they are going back to a Two Big lineup. Hollins might occasionally play Small ball but Two Bigs will play the majority of the time ala Gasol and Z-bo

Saw a little bit of Jerome Jordan at Tulsa. His college years were basically meh..in my opinion. He's very limited offensively and not really as dominant as you would like around the rim. Haven't seen much of his game since those days. Needless to say I will keep my expectations low. Hopefully his time overseas is a testament for his improvement.

we might be reading too much into these signings. they may just want bodies for camp/preseason. as KG/Brook might see little to no action there,

Woj reported the Nets want to add a 3rd center to the roster.

yea i agree. We really need some bigger players on the boards in order to outrebound other players. I think brook is still a question mark for us.

I dont like Hollins because of this, is crystal clear to me that the team should rotate the bigs a lot and play with Kirilenko as a BIG, the team should be signing a SF, not a big, but Hollins is a classic coach and he is not going to go agains his vets.
Kidd system suits the team better, Garnett should come of the bench.
Williams-Jack
Johnson-Anderson
Bogdanovic-Kirilenko/Karasev
Kirilenko-Teletovic/Garnett
Lopez-Plumlee/Garnett
Garnett should play less than 24minpg during the RS, him, Lopez and Kirilenko have major injury concerns, they should rotate a lot, this team needs another back-up swinmen unless you trust Alan Anderson and Karasev, is a shame that they didnt retain Pierce.
I like Markel Brown, and Jack will play a lot alongside Deron, but still feels short, Dante Cunningham is more of a PF but he will be a nice pick-up, and apparently MPietrus is trying to work his way back into the league, dunno about how healthy he is, but is worth a try, I will invite him for a workout.

They have 5 or 6 players that can play small forward only 3 proven bigs Lopez, Garnett and Plumlee. Rookie Cory Jefferson and Jerome Jordan have non-guaranteed contracts.
Kirelenko and Mirza can play the position but I they need more rebounding.
