To put it in simpler terms:

Prokhorov and Guggenheim would be joining forces to own the Nets teams and a percentage of possibly Dodgers stadium and Barclays. Prokhorov would remain the owner and Ratner would remain the minority owner.

It was reported months ago by the NY Post, Prokhorov was looking for a third investor and needed to reduce payroll to show other interested buyers that he would be willing to reduce his crazy spending which he did (letting Pierce walk).

Proky would make his money back from his investment while remaining owner and the Dodgers influence would enhance the Brooklyn brand.

It's a win-win situation.

Thanks for clearing it up P I read that Prokhorov could be the minority owner after he cashes out.(?)
Thought it was strange he would pay the crazy amount for the team's salary last year including the luxury tax and a year later want to cut costs. Now it makes sense.

How can the LA Dodgers; aside from them being owned by the same group; enhance the Brooklyn Nets? Unless there's plans to bring the Dodgers back to Brooklyn.
The Brooklyn Dodgers era is long gone they're across the country now and NY even got a new team the Mets

From what has been reported, Prokhorov allegedly remains majority owner in any deal. Ratner remains minority owner. Alot of these clueless beat writers are pushing this idea Proky wants to sell completely when in actuality, he is just taking advantage of the valuation of the team which is at 1 billion.

Cross promotion. The Nets did it in their inaugural season honoring some key members of the 1950s team.

That Magic Johnson guy could be a helpful free agent recruiter. There is also the potential of the Nets using the iconic Brooklyn Dodgers script and color scheme for merchandise and alternate jerseys.

Yeah I was going to say, the Nets could then officially uses the Dodgers style font and make some sick alternate jerseys.

You make Dodger style Nets jerseys that look even closer to the old Dodger uniforms than the gray unis they wore last year it will be a cash cow.

Another thing, it amazes me how many idiots chimed in on the wiretap article about the Nets' situation. Some dolt actually said that the Nets are a darkhorse to move to Seattle....what a dumb ass.

Oh crap, I didn't even think about that.

If Magic Johnson became a part owner and we still had ties to Jay-Z....oh lawd!

The white one reminds me of Philly. But the blue one looks tight as hell. I would take them both though.
