so much for that procedure that is supposed to keep it from getting reinjured.
sucks cause his value is completely gone. thats a big reason why i wanted to deal him at the draft for whatever we could get.
as far as on the floor, i think this helps. we are much better defensively with KG and plumlee at C

Statement from Nets Medical Director Dr. Riley Williams III
"Brook Lopez experienced right foot soreness after being stepped on during the pre-season game against the Kings Wednesday night. X-ray and CT scan studies done Thursday in New York reveal no fractures or bone injuries. Brook has been diagnosed with a mild midfoot sprain and is likely to be out for approximately 10-14 days."

I think you have to go with
Plumlee - Jordan
KG - Mirza
JJ - AK
Bogs - AA
DWIll - Jack

The question is if the Nets are lying about the severity of the injury for the 3rd time.

Brook never had value. We were never trading him either.
As Bondy tweeted he had this injury early in 2012-2013 and was still an All Star. But obviously there's reservations.
The only thing Raptors have going for them is they're good at running their mouths. Dude comes here offering his condolences and then makes a topic on their board where fans start ragging on the Nets. The same Nets that knocked them out of the playoffs without Lopez last year. For a franchise that has won just ONE playoff series in it's existence their fan base sure talks a lot of ****. Maybe one day they'll actually backup it up and win another playoff series.

The procedure is supposed to prevent another fracture, not a foot sprain.
And I wish you would stop spouting your non sense about us being better off without Brook. It's embarrassing.

It's a sprain and not a fracture, out 2 weeks at most. It's not time to panic yet.

I'd like to see this rotation used on Sunday. Perfect flex offense spacing.
D-Will/Jack
Bojan/Anderson
Johnson/Kerasev
Teletovic/Kirilenko
KG/Plumlee/Jordan

This lineup is PERFECT for letting DWill, Bojan and JJ post up too. Would love to see this. 5 really good passers. Everyone can shoot. The BBIQ is through the roof here.
I do also want to see Mason next to KG though. I want to see if he's serious about this posting up and bad shot selection thing. If Mason is posting up when JJ, Deron, Bojan are on the floor - then I'm gonna start getting worried.
Re: Brook. I'm really worried that he's going to miss a lot of time. How do you miss 2 weeks because someone stepped on your foot? Also, the Nets have consistently lied about the severity of Brook's foot injury. He also continues to play through injuries. CONSISTENTLY. This guy needs to be extra cautious and sit himself if he feels ANYTHING in his foot. There's no way you sprain a foot and don't feel it at all. I'm actually preparing myself for Brook to be done for the year.

I think we might see both lineups tested out. At this point, it's almost a guarantee Mason will attempt atleast five post moves per quarter. For better or worse.

They didn't lie when he had the same sprain in 2012 during the 'Fire Avery' peroid. I don't see them doing that this time around either but I definitely think they will put some cautions on him now. If it is actually two weeks, I don't see them throwing him back in there right away.

D-Will/Jack
Bojan/Anderson
Johnson/Kerasev
Teletovic/Kirilenko
KG/Plumlee/Jordan
This lineup has ZERO balance.
No defense in the starting lineup and no scoring on the bench.
If you want Mirza in the starting lineup then it will be at Bogs expense. You would have to go with this:
KG - Jordan
Mirza - Plumlee
AK - Bogs
JJ - AA
DWill - Jack

How? We just ran the same exact lineup against the Kings. You're basically just substituting Lopez for KG. It gives Deron and Joe more room to score and make plays.
Jack and Plumlee can be the main scorers in the second unit with AA, Kerasev being the shooters and Kirilenko being the defender and rebounder.

Against a Cousins-less Kings team that we needed overtime to win. I wouldnt base anything on this game, especially when we shot so well from 3. That's not easily duplicated.
Any lineup with Plumlee as the 2nd scorer is a bad idea.

Yeah I'm in the minority here... This sucks that he's losing time, but a sprain is a sprain and it probably has to do some with his surgery (lower muscle density) but this isn't the time to sound the alarms just yet. If he comes back hobbled, then yes. at face value, this is unfortunate... But this isn't even close to the injuries that have been popping up this preseason

its not embarassing, its fact. last year we had a better record/winning percentage after he went down.
he is a good player who can score... but his game isnt conducive to good winning team ball and his defense is weak.
we are better off without him, i had hoped it would be due to trade
