Well after 1 embarrassing loss and still no Lopez, let's start kicking around some trade ideas and making rumors.

Three way trade:
- Lopez to Lakers
- Kobe to Knicks
- Amare to Nets

No way on earth could this ever happen... but Lopez would help replace losing Randle and we get out of his contract a year early. Yeah they are taking a risk on him, but it helps them shake free of the Kobe era and get rid of his remaining 2 years.... Kobe to Knicks to make their dream Triangle/Phil/Fisher/Melo combo, and Kobe would probably approve.... and Amare to us and after this season he's gone.

just getting things started

The funny part is that we could use Stat and Shump LOL

Nets and Knicks would never trade though

i dont like that deal at all... id want kobe. his contract runs just as long as brooks so cap wise its no biggie. kobe would be the alpha player we need who isnt afraid to call people out

if dwill or lopez can get us kobe, we have to do that

OKC looks like the most willing team to trade

Perkins, Collison and Lamb
for
DWill

Maybe we can squeeze Perry Jones or Reggie Jackson into the deal.

dwill makes no sense for OKC. he isnt good enough to keep them relevant through injury and westbrook already is on the team longterm

OKC are too cheap to take on a contract like Derons. No chance.

Why does it matter if we get out of Lopez or JJs contract a year early? We won't have cap space regardless nor do we have a way to replace them other than the MLE which we shouldn't use anyway since we need to save space for 2016. Unless the team simply wants to cut major salary...a bad sign for the fans..there is no point. We aren't getting assets for either one.

The only player we really need to explore moving is Deron so we can free up more 2016 cap space.

I used to like the Smith and Jennings for D.Will deal we've floated on the trade board. Detroit fans were split but D.Will does work well with big men...Boozer, Okur , Lopez, Blatche, Plumlee etc. and might help Drummond blossom.

Otherwise I don't know who else is worth moving.
Jack - we need a back up PG and the team has liked him for an while.
Gutz - worth nothing
BB - isn't going anywhere
Brown - worth nothing and minimal salary
JJ - no value with that cintract
AK - ties to Proky and took a discount
Karasev - team likes him and we need some youth
Jefferson - worth nothing and minimal salary
Lopez - negative value
Jordan - no value

That leaves....
D.Will - not sure what we could get but he should be the priority to move.

KG - if he would waive his NTC he's a 12m expiring and could help a team as a 15mpg back up C

Teletovic - worried what offers he might get as a restricted FA next summer and he would hurt our 2016 cap. Can't see him as a starter on this team (unless we had a big time rebounder and defender at C) and we don't need to overpay bench players

Plumlee - sell high on a player with limited upside and flaws.

This maybe a pipe dream but if Denver felt JJ could secure them a PO spot I like...

JJ, MB, CJ, JG, #2
For
Afflalo, Chandler, Hickson, Foye

D.Will l Jack l Foye
Afflalo l Bogs l AA
Chandler l AK l Karasev
Plumlee l Teletovic l Hickson
Lopez l KG l Jordan

Lawson l Nate Rob l Gutz
Johnson l Harris l Brown
Gallo l Gee
Faried l Arthur l Jefferson
Mozgov l Nurkic l McGee

Afflalo and Chandler would help our perimeter D while Hickson at least can rebound and score. Foye would be a luxury but needed to make salary work. They'd probably insist we take McGee though.

Yeah, I think the Detroit board was split on DWill because of his injury history as well as his contract being 3 years, just like Smith, but Jennings is only a two year deal. So, if Jennings doesn't work out for us, at least we can get rid of him quicker. In my fantasy land (Idk how "logical" it really is and I definitely don't speak for the whole Detroit board), I'd do: Smith+Jennings for JJ (we get out of Smith's contract 1 year early) and Jerebko+Datome for Jack (you get out of Jacks contract 2 years early). Really **** with the post depth, but I do like that a lot more than what I'm currently looking at in Detroit .
Drummond / Anthony
Monroe / Martin
JJ / Butler / Singler
Meeks / KCP
Jack / Augustin

Good luck this year by the way guys :)

So you want to trade the best player in both teams and prospect for veteran role players with no upside?? How is this a pipe dream...

if we trade lopez we would be at 60M and could easily manuever another 2 million to get under the cap. Getting under the cap. and it would instantly put us below the tax. Major advantages to both other then just the MLE

- we reset the repeater tax
- we gain the ability to accept players in a sign and trade

those are 2 very important things. if teams have stars who they know will walk, they might prefer to trade them instead of letting them hit the open market for nothing

i dont see how that deal helps us now or in the future. JJ is our best player and i think that deal makes us worse and might cause us to miss the playoffs

With Deron looking healthy and producing again (albeit 4 games in), teams may be willing to entertain trade talks for him. Do we still want to pull the trigger for a couple of average level expiring players like we would have done last year? Would we make the playoffs without Deron?

1) no. even playing at his improved level and looking healthy, dwill is still likely not a top 10 point gaurd. teams arent taking on that kind of money for a guy who isnt top 5-10 point gaurd

2) yes, of course we move him in a second for expiring/shorter money

3) idk, depends who we got and who stayed healthy... id say yes. any team with Joe johnson and a bunch of solid vets is a likely playoff team.

We need to consider trading AK for a SG to come off the bench or even start.

I don't think we'll trade AK....

Not sure why the PT is down, maybe precaution?

That and he doesn't fit in the offense. We need guys like Anderson and AK still refuses to develop a long range game.

If Kerasev gets minutes and begins to produce offense, Kirilenko is a goner.

Offense he doesn't if we're looking for shooters across the board... I mean with a Mirza as a stretch 4, I would think that AK's passing ability and getting open would be enough to be effective in the offense during his PT.

Karasev I hope he gets it going... I can see Hollins playing him more if he excels in both practice n during PT.

I don't want to label AK as a goner... I like his energy and ability to create TO.... as well as playing basketball
