Got up early for this one! Very nice lol. Love that Jack and Pekovic pictures!
Hope this team comes to play again tonight and we see how Lopez does against a very powerful center in Pek. This team is young and we are old, lol, time to see how we match up.

the wolves are awful. anything but another blowout win would be a disappointment with us playing at home.

The Wolves aren't awful by any means, they might actually be the best team we've faced yet. Should have won against the Bulls this season, and they have good talent on their team.

Unless the Wolves throw Young on JJ - Joe is going to destroy the Wolves. We've seen this before. A team without much bulk on the wings trying to guard JJ. It ends badly. VERY BADLY. Wiggins, Brewer, Budinger fit that description.
Minny fans last year were ashamed at how JJ went at their defensive "stopper" like he was a liability in our last matchup. Straight disrespectful.

I was too young to understand the NBA in that pic, but when I started following KG & became a wolves fan in 02, damn. It just brings back a lot of memories of KG. The most unselfish superstar in the generation. Just a boss from day 1. His passion, attitude, there's not another person I woulda wanted to start my franchise with in the early 2000's. Not even Shaq. Not the Kobe chucker. Not the I'm not gonna play to prove a point while loosing LeBron.
Now he's just a shell of himself, but if Minny's management was average, & not the worst, he would go down on the all time list MUCH higher than he will now. His career until 2012 was parallel to TD's. Cept he had the best organization in the NBA behind him, & KG had the incompetent TWolves.
It gets me so mad. Wally? Rasho? TBrandon? That's the best you can do for him? Look at what happened that 1 year with Spree & Cassell. That 04 Ring was Minny's. Even with THud! We didn't even need Cassell. If 1 stays healthy & we don't have derrick martin playing 30mpg, we beat the damn lakers & pistons. No doubt in my mind. Smh damn.

They are not awful, although i'm obviously expecting a win. Doesn't have to be a blowout, just win.

This team scares me.
Young, quick and athletic.
Not a good match up for us. Key will be limiting transition points.

yea, true ill take a win any way we get it.... but id expect another blow out.
the wolves are young and athletic, but its not like the celtics or say magic. they lack talent and they have alot of extremely flawed or flat out bad players and few if any guys who play both ways. they actualyl hurt themselves playing quick cause they dont defend in transition at all so as soon as they start missing shots they get lit up
109-88 nets

they score 13 ppg in transition, the same as us. im not scared to get into a transition game with them, because their transition D is pretty awful (22 ppg allowed in transition, 5th worst)
they dont take any 3s as a team or really make you gaurd the perimeter. if we can keep them off the FT line we should be ok, and with brook back i dont think pek will go off on us for liek 12+ FTs

I think it's a bit too early to be making generalizations about teams based upon stats.
We know Rubio, Young, Wiggins, Brewer, Dieng and others are young and can run.

Our calling card this season is probably going to be transition game. We haven't done that yet, and we've still kept it close with a couple of the best defensive teams in the league. That's a good thing for this young team, not a bad thing.

I've done a pretty huge 180 on KG after I learned more and more about his career. And I DON'T penalize him for any lack of team success...to me, that says nothing about the level of player he actually was. IMO, he's the greatest PF of all time, better than Duncan, better than Barkley, better than Malone.
And that's a pretty big difference from where I used to have him, at least compared to Duncan...you can ask enetric about that actually, I debated with him quite a bit why I'd take Duncan...but after thinking about it more, I think KG was just a slightly better player...just a little more useful offensively (Duncan's back to the basket game is a little overrated, he's been shut down plenty of times in his career...KG was the better shooter, comparable or better passer, and better ball handler), and defensively you can make a good debate as to who was better...but I prefer the more mobile and more athletic KG who can cover a larger area of the court instead of the stronger, more classical rim protector Duncan.

Good teams don't struggle with this type of athletic squad. No disrespect to Minny but they don't have the type of quickness that's difficult to gameplan against. Rubio isn't like John Wall. The young guys are more full court athletes which is slowed down by limiting TOs, scoring efficiently and having proper floor balance. I don't think they're awful but very flawed. Would be nice to expose those flaws.

Why is KG better than Duncan? Duncan has been better than KG defensively over their careers (By his own admission, KG only became a true defensive anchor once he got to Boston). Duncan has been the better rebounder, rim protector too over his career. Duncan has had more longevity in his career. You say KG is the better shooter, well, Duncan has been better in the paint.
I don't understand why is the "Duncan is in a great situation" argument used against him. Duncan has pretty much done the most he could have with his situation. They've NEVER missed the playoffs, they've won the championship 5 times, and they're favorites to win it all again this season. Has Duncan underachieved by any means for people to use the argument "oh he's in a great situation"? Like just because Duncan has been in a great situation means that you take credit away from him, even though he has had incredible success? Even though he has been an integral part of that great success?

We know wiggins can run? based on? certainly not what he has done so far in the pros and certainly not what he did at kansas.
brewer isnt someone who hurts you in transition on the offensive end. rubio is decent in the open court, but not a killer. the are young, sure, they are athletic, sure, but they arent guys who have run with alot of success this year, last year, or in wiggins case in college.
and even if they do run on you, their transition defense is so bad you are better off getting into an up and down game with them
