Were the Nets boards this pessimistic last year?

This team looks like a championship contender compared to this hot mess.

It's November, guys...relax.

GTFO

Jk

Yes we were very pessimistic last year too. With all the money spent, draft picks traded, and big name players we had/have, we expect a much better product than the one we've been given. We've sat through recent history, going from being contenders, to mediocre, to God awful. We've been led to believe we have a shot at competing in the east this year, but one of our corner stone players, Lopez, has been truly atrocious. There's issues with our defense and drama in the locker room (Hollins and Kirilenko). We beat poor teams and lose to good ones. Not a good sign, no matter what sport it is. Our GM is a moron and our owner isn't as connected to the team as we want him to be.

There's a lot of frustration and disappointment on this board and you can't blame us.

This board was probably worse last year. The 10-21 start gave people reason so even after we clearly turned it around - the negativity was awful. Predicting the team would make it to .500 or the playoffs got you burnt at the stake around here.

It's not pessimism, it's frustration and disappointment finally boiled over.

We're tired of the annual excuses from the franchise for why this team (usually) doesn't play anywhere close to its potential.

The past few years, there was always the convenient excuse of major injuries and that "When we're healthy next year, we'll be good."

Well, we're healthy this year and we're still not playing well. Many of us called this out seasons ago but now we're all basically united and see through the BS the franchise has been feeding us.

We're tired of the excuses. We want to root for a basketball team where we have young talent that we can root for and develop or a good basketball team that's actually worth the money Prokhorov has invested in the team. If I were him, I'd be absolutely enraged at the amount of money I've allocated to making the team better and yet received such a poor return on investment.

Yeah, this team has the highest payroll in the sport and the team has never, ever played like a contender or played with maximum efficiency and effort.
