NEW YORK -- The Brooklyn Nets have begun reaching out to teams to let them know that former All-Stars Deron Williams, Brook Lopez and Joe Johnson are all available via trade, ESPN.com has learned.

League sources told ESPN.com that ‎the Nets, off to a disappointing 8-11 start and looking to retool after last season's $190 million roster filled with veterans couldn't advance beyond the second round of the playoffs, have ‎let it be known that they are prepared to move any of those franchise cornerstones in what would likely be separate deals if they came to fruition because of the high salaries each possess.

I don't understand what this buys us if we don't get some first rounders in return. I doubt we get a star player in return. This core is good enough for a 6-8 seed. We trade them for negative value we're looking at a 15 win team next year. Joe and Brook expire next year so we might as well have a border line playoff team rather than a 15 win team. It might be bad basketball but I'd rather have bad playoff basketball rather than 15 win bad basketball.

on the block isnt the same as a firesale looking to move all 3. the idea is to make a deal that keeps you playoff relevant. and thats moving one of the big 3 for someone who fits better. moving lopez for a PF for instance makes alot of sense for us. or moving joe for a more athletic guy who compliments a running team better. or moving deron for more of a facilitator and 2 way player.

2 of the 3 can coexsist, all 3 dont work. i dont take this as the nets are looking to move all 3, i take it as the nets would move any 1 of the 3.

Brook makes the most sense. he wasnt here last year, he is the worst fo the 3, and he is the biggest injury risk

trading any of them for cap space makes no sense, we could trade joe and brook and still be over the cap. we can trade any of the 3 and still be over the tax. lotto protected draft picks dont help us and no one is giving non protection for any of those 3.

I can't see us swinging a deal since they all have negative trade value and the Nets have such limited assets. The whole thing is such a mess. I'd love it if the "major move" was canning King.

there are tons of other guys who have negative value too though. we could easily move one of our negative player guys for someone elses who fits better. We really need an athlete and we really need a PF.

josh smith has negative value for instance

These dudes were low key always on the trading block.

I'd prefer not having someone who goes into 2016 on the cap unless DWill is moved in the trade. It's just compounding matters if we lack cap space and picks.

Might as well move them now before any injuries occur later. We will probably end up taking on another bad contract but with shorter years like Brandon Jennings , Eric Gordon or Amare Studemire for example which will keep us competitive.

I could see us moving Lopez for Nash. Assuming we want to avoid the repeater we need to dump salary and he makes the least. Should also drop us below the cap for S&T's. Really all it does it move the Lakers from players in 2015 to 2016 while taking a flier on Lopez. Jordan Hill should be a good compliment to Lopez.

We may need to add Karasev or something else as incentive, but Nash for Lopez as the building block for the trade. A couple Lakers fans on the GB mentioned giving us an asset in this deal, but same starting point/idea.

Brook Lopez has put up gaudy stats recently?

16/6 on the year
ZERO 20/10 games
2 double doubles
1 25+ point game

im sorry, but by no standards has he been putting up "guady numbers"

Dwill looks better, but still just barely above average as a PG this season.

Lopez value was before the year. before he had shown he is a dminished player who isnt dominant and who is injury prone. the back issue/MRI on top of foot issues isnt going to help his case.

Dwill i think has some value, but only for someone else junk. and im not sure thats worth it.

Joe i think is all that gets us something ok. and that also likely not worth it

i just hope there is someway we can doa 3 team deal where we move lopez and get back smith

Johnson for Lance, Marv Will & Neal? Should work out.

Marv Will expires the year as JJ. Neal is an Expiring who can actually shoot. & Lance is main piece. BK born it'd be great.

Keep Dwill.

Brook for Nash & Ellington works. They should sit Brook out the year to get their needed top 5 pick.

Kobe - Randle - Lopez - Rook (Mduiay or S Johnson?) type core.

Sacramento will take Johnson or Deron for sure, and they wont be the ones.

Lopez is more difficult to move though.

doesnt really help us a ton... and gets us no one to help us stay playoff relevant this year

brook for boozer would be a no brainer for us though

I'm so happy. This isnt a full rebuild but they arent tied to non of these guys. Remember we have to make the playoffs and not the lottery. A top 10 lottery pick would be the worst thing ever.

I want JJ gone more than anyone. Lopez can at least score, JJ this season has stunk his production can be replaced easily.

Tyreke Evans
Lance Stephenson
Greg Monroe
Josh Smith

Are players i would take for JJ

I hope NO calls for Dwill, Holiday and Gordon in return.

Lopez I dont know who takes a chance. Hopefully Detroit.

This means AK47 may be packaged for something bigger now, which is what I was hoping for.

Lakers propose Lin+Nash+filler for Deron Williams+filler. Deal or no deal?

No your right. The only benefit would be a cap dump. Was thinking more who'd take on Brook not when BK would get back from it lol. points stands though. Think that CHA deal could actually happen though. Think it'd benefit both teams.
