At the time, Johnson was by far the worst contract in the league, we never should have traded draft picks for him. We've probably shipped Atlanta a lottery pick for taking his contract off their hands.
I'm tired of seeing people defend that trade.
Stop already.
Joe isnt the one who sunk this team. It was DWill.
And we are swapping picks with the Hawks, not giving them one. I dont remember you predicting the Hawks having the best record in the East before the season started. I still think they fall back some and I think the Nets will move up to 5 or 6 by the end of the year so your "lottery pick" whining isnt true. Losing a late teens pick is not even close to equal value for JJ. We can easily trade up to where Atlanta will be picking. You act like we gave them a top 5 pick for christ sake.
Of all the people on the team, Joe has played to his career numbers. He is a 45% FG / 37% 3pt shooting wing who gives you 4 assists and that's exactly what he has done as a Net. He scored more as a Hawk only because he shot more. The guy doesnt get nearly enough credit. We lost the Bulls series because of his foot injury but when he was healthy he won us the Raptors series. He also played at a very high level vs Miami. That doesnt mean much to a lot of you who feel like that wasnt enough but place the blame properly. DWill was paid to be a difference maker and simply wasnt. End of story. PERIOD.
