According to W/T and Bloomberg Prok is putting the franchise up for sale. If this means Billy King will be on the unemployment line where he belongs I welcome this.

Time to dig ourselves out of this hole and clean house starting with King. Hoping for some wealthy investment group like Guggenheim that will hire a competent GM and then step back and let him do his thing.

If they move to Seattle you guys still following them?

it's not going to happen. they have a brand new arena. Why would they move to seattle over atlanta that draws less fans despite being a worse franchise.

i just hope we get another owner willing to spend. dont want to get stuck with some schmuck

1) Not shocking considering how Russia's economy is in a freefall now with oil prices plummeting. My tank has been full for the last two months.

3) Prok, I think anyone who buys this team is going to be willing to spend money, but I'll wager that they do so in a wiser fashion that Prokhorov

This season has been a complete embarrassment on all levels. I for one am glad the Russians are going to be gone, because Billy King's ass is GRASS!!

And how funny is it to see this information come out a day after a certain blowhard insider mouthpiece announces that as far as he knew, the team wasn't up for sale, and his "information was current".

Let's hope that the team is sold to a group that is committed to putting together a sustainable and watchable product dedicated to a winning culture and atmosphere instead of media splashes that only impress spin artist bloggers who will say anything, even if it flies in the face of all reason, truth, and rationality, to maintain favor with a front office that has run this team into the ground

There are several reports that go against this news.

However, if this is true, the one thing I'd be most happy about by far would be the guaranteed firing of Billy King.

He should've never been hired. I joyously await the day he is canned!

Proky was responsible for the moving and rebranding I will give him credit for that. As far as NBA decisions he and his staff were fools. Get rid of the Euro Scout, get rid of the GM's, get rid of Yormark.

I hope Magic Johnson and his dodger team come in and buy and throw money at any of Buldenhozer, Ujiri, Presti or any of the up and coming stars of the league.

This really is a shame. BKN would have been running NYC if they had just stuck to drafting and building a team the regular way instead of trying to get a star.

BTW this ties into putting all their eggs into the Dwill basket. I want that dude gone and his Jersey and number burned and never mentioned again.

Not that it means much but Chris "multiple sauces" seems to be indicating that nothing has changed as well and the Nets stance has always been to listen with nothing being imminent.

Even of Prokhorov doesn't sell this season he should fire Billy King. Still being owner shouldn't stop him.

Howard Beck and Woj are both saying the Nets are selling.

We'll wait and see.

The only good thing that could come out of this is the new owner may prefer his "guy" to run things. Which means Billy King should be super nervous and making phone calls to find another job. Elsewhere. I for one hope these rumors come to fruition. Even though this franchise is in complete reckless abandon mode--making a move like this could be beneficial long-term. Top priority better be the axing of the one man that single handily put the team in this prediciment. The franchise killer, the one, the only, Billy King.

I would imagine that because the team is situated in a big market like NYC, it'll attract buyers that are willing to spend big. I just hope it's someone much smarter than the current ownership.
