On the real, may he have a safe and speedy recovery. This could've ended badly for him. Best wishes for him and his family.

Pull through Mirza!

We just got a whole lot weaker at the PF position, looks like we make a trade soon and are going to rely on CJ a lot more for a while. Thad Young is looking real good right now

This went unnoticed all season long. I take back everything I've said about him this year.

Yeah, i seriously feel bad for kicking the guy's back in this year, he could have frickin died. This is probably why he has been so poor this year.

Career threatening??? damn...

When it rains it pours. This type of stuff puts this game we all love and life in perspective though. I'm sure Mirza and his family are feeling fortunate to have this diagnosis rather now than too late. Best wishes to him.

On the basketball side, now with this hiccup the Nets may feel a dire need to settle for anything they can get in any trade. Things are going to get interesting now.

Wow...this is huge. I know Tim Walsh and his staff has been universally regarded as a great staff in the NBA, but with Deron complaining that his rib injury was misdiagnosed and now this unseen, makes me wonder what's up. Of course, if Mirza never complained until now about his breathing, I can understand why this was left undiagnosed.

Best wishes to Mirza. He's certainly gone through a lot first growing up in a war-torn country and now this, just so he can play a game he loves.

Wow no wonder he's been having such a down season. Crazy that team doctors didn't pick up on it earlier. Career threatening? Damn. Hoping he gets the help needed for his life.

I'm guessing he probably felt something but just thought it was fatigue from playing in 90+ games last year, playing FIBA during the summer and now this season.

Very terrible news, but on a bright note they caught it before it became even worse. I wish him the best in his recovery.

yeah I'm not sure that can be pinned on Walsh, Mirza may have been dealing with breathing issues all year but maybe he didn't think anything of it until **** hit the fan in his lungs last night

either way, i'm glad the dude caught this now before it became fatal

My dad was in the ICU for weeks and nearly died from a pulmonary embolism. It can't be stressed at how serious this is.

The issue is the source of the blood clots, my father's were caused when they formed in his legs and became unstuck and traveled to his lungs. If they had gone to his brain it's likely he would have died, and that's how his mother died. Luckily they became stuck in his lungs.

This is a months long recovery process where they slowly break down the clots in the lungs with blood thinners, as they try to identify their source and prevent them in the future.

"I was seven years old when the war started. First you start seeing that there's no food, then grenades come down, the whole city is shaking, and you hear people screaming. Every day, your parents come in and say 'our neighbor died, our cousin died'. Always somebody dying. One day, I asked my mother, 'Is anybody alive?' It was very, very rough for us. It left, I will say, a memory". Teletović added, "All my friends and me are playing [basketball] and then you hear the sirens like the grenades start falling down and just run to your house and hide. If I have to die, I die. For basketball, I will do anything" - From Mirza's Wiki page.
