I think Young or jefferson should get the start at the 4. dont think joe would be able to keep faried off the boards

Yeah, this would be a good one for Young to start off in.... if not Young then CJ, got have a wing player available off the bench that we can Brooklyn nets count on...

Maybe Karasev gets some burn....

Not yet on Lopez... we have no threat, no real one guy threat off the bench. Lopez is the best option considering we could get still get production from our bigs in Plumlee starting.

Not me.

Williams/AA/JJ/Young/Plumlee

Deron to move the rock, maybe hit an open shot if we're luck
AA to defend the tougher wing match up and shoot threes
JJ to just be JJ
Young for athleticism, hustle and to run the floor
Plums for boards, hustle, athleticism, finishing

Jack, Brown, Bogs, Lopez for 2nd unit.

I dont mind thad starting... but i dont see the logic of him starting over joe because we are worried about rebounding. Joe is no worse a rebounder then Thad, and the size is similar. if we are worried about rebounds, start brook and mason.

I actually am liking the idea of thad and brook off the bench. thats alot of punch off the pine. when jack is back add him or dwill to that duo.

I dont like small ball for us, but if we do it, lets do it right and have a 3 point shooter there like Joe

I hate this year's small ball... last yr, even though I didn't care for it but it was effective because we had PP at the 4... JJ isn't what PP is at the 4...

Also, I rather use a true/close to true PF in the starting lineup cuz that would mean bogs or AA goes to the bench to help bring some punch off the bench during the game...

we have no wing players if AA, JJ n Boogy are starting... Thad is more of a PF than SF for the team in my understanding so he counts as a big. Rebounding is poor either way perhaps but substitutions and rotations are taking a hit IMO.

I think it's a good call starting Brown. He showed nice promise last game, love his aggression, something we've all wanted and something we need

Joe is certainly comprable to pierce as a small ball 4,... the issue is AA/Bogs are not close to livingston/joe as SG/SF.

playing thad at the 4 casues major issues on both ends IMO...

1) he doesnt rebound well and doesnt have size. not always an issue but it is with the toher bigs we have next to him
2) He doesnt shoot well, again not always an issue but when the guys you dont play with also dont shoot well it is
3) we already take too many long 2's, he takes/misses the long 2 often. its not a fit for a team that already settles for that shot

the way i see it, thad shoots the 3 just as well as bogs does. so having him at SF in place of bogs(move joe to the 2) doesnt result in any less shooting on the floor while it does give us alot more size and athleticism. now at least we have an identitiy.

id rather be a big team with a ton of size then be a traditional team with no shooters, rebounders, or defenders.

i dont think he really has a position. he has SG skills but PG size.

if jack is out i think markel gets maybe 18 minutes and id guess something along the lines of 8/3/1/2?

i wouldnt necissarily equate him starting with him getting 30+ minutes. id think it is more to make sure we have someone to backup the wings as starting bogs/anderson/joe leaves us with little on the bench for wings

#FreeMarkel :D

cant help but think hollins wants to make sure he has something on the bench with this move. wouldnt be suprised if markel only plays 12-20 minutes. Hopefully he comes out and plays well and does end up playing alot. he is one the fun guys we have to watch.

this is a good game for him, denver doesn have super size at PG or speed at SG. he can probably cross match with dwill and defend the PG spot on the other end

Return to Brooklyn Nets
