I hope they go to Brook early and often. The celtics have no one to guard him and they need to take advantage of that.

I agree, the celtic's biggest hole is center and even PF in some lineups.

We need huge games from Brook, Plumlee, Thad and maybe even CJ... All around our bigs need to get it going

Here are the keys to victory:

-Give Beast Lopez the ball. Move out of the way.

-Give Beast Bogdanovic the ball. Move out the way.

-Do not play Jack and Deron together. If Deron is in, let Markel be his backcourt mate. If Jack is in, let Anderson play the 2.

-Plenty of Thad. Plenty of Markel.

-Plumlee/Jefferson as the 5 and 4 off the bench. No more small ball.

-Cut Joe Johnson's minutes but let him play in the 4th.

And now I will say the dreaded words that may doom this team tonight: THIS IS A MUST WIN GAME

Put up or shut up game. Celtics on the 2nd of a back to back and a win puts us tied or .5 back of the 8 seed. This is another enormous game for us. biggest game since we last played charlotte. The nets typically roll over in these type of games. a winnign streak mounting and a big game at home with playoff implications. we usually get blown out in these types of games.

Will deron/Joe/Brook respond and keep playing well?

Im hoping they do. Celtics dont have the size to check brook. this is a game he needs to go 28/12. not go 15/5 and watch olynk hit 6 threes and blow by him for layups. he needs to dominate this game.

this is what i posted in every single game thread the last 8-10 we played the celtics the past 3 years in brooklyn:

prokorov wrote:The celts play hard. We dont. were gonna lose

and almost every time thats been the case. they have owned us, which is pretty sad considering how much ebtter we have been the past 3 seasons. but its true. they do play harder. Smart is coming off a suspension. that dude is a kobe level competitior dude plays his butt off same with jae crowder.

we play hard. we win. period.

if they dont play hard, then i just dont know what to say. you HAVE to show up for this game

they havent the last few times either, and we havent always taken advantage of it. we need to punish them isnide early and get their bigs in foul trouble. we dont need their bigs draining threes and outrunning us on the break

Should I state the obvious on how Brook needs to dominate inside? I won't thus I won't be disappointed when he decides to settle away from the glass....(though he hasn't of late which is encouraging)

The game against Indy on Saturday was just as big as this one.

Few more points
-Bog should not be first Guard off the bench. If Hollins is taking brown out, AA should come in instead of Bogs. Celtic guards always hurt us. Bogs should come in for JJ not Brown.
-Let DWill play MORE with the second unit to maximize Bogs, AA, CJ and Plumlee. Jack playing the entire 2nd and 4th quarters are just ridiculous.
-CJ should play more. I know you had this already but I want to empathize this. CJ should be getting more minutes. CJ's athletism and rebounding is what Nets need. I also think he should play with Lopez. Thad has shown he isnt that great at help defense. Lopez needs someone to have his back.

true, we did come through there and that was big.

still dont trust this team in a big game. weve gotten smacked in too many of them.

agree on CJ... he needs to play more. limit thad to 24 minutes unless he is on fire

I'm with you. I think the combinations are kind of out of wack.

AA should come in for Markel. AA will defend and also stretch the floor, since Jack isn't a 3 pt shooter. Bojan should come in for Joe and take up a good bit of Joe's minutes especially if he continues to play aggressive and hit shots. He looks awesome as of late.

I'd like to see Hollins try to use Lopez/CJ and then Plumlee/Thad. Those combos compliment each other.

Agreed on the frontcourt. Thad and Lopez has been disaster a defensively, I'd like to see how those two pairings fair against the opposition. But Bogs should get some of the minutes at SG. Anderson has been awesome the past few games, but he still shouldn't be seeing 30 minutes a night, which is what he would get if he were to play all of the backup SG minutes.

id rather AA/Markel get all the SG minutes and let bogs strictly backup SF. AA isnt suited for big minutes but neither is bogs. give both 16-22 minutes.

front court i agree i dont like thad and brook together. thad kind of negates brooks size and hurts us on the glass. id rather pair CJ and brook unless thad is playing SF id rather see less of him with lopez

Must win game tonight. We luck out since our competitors in the playoff race have these games: Rockets-Pacers/Hornets-Bulls. We can definitely scoop up the 8th spot. Expecting a big game from Brook tonight

Lopez is the key tonight. Hopefully Nets feed him down low early and often to get him going. Olynyk has been ice-cold from deep lately, hoep he won`t rediscover his shooting stroke tonight so Brook can stay in the paint and protect the rim. With Celtics having a rather subpar backcourt offensively, i would like to see Bogs getting the start ahead of Markel tonight. Brook will get a lot more space with Bogey speading the floor instead of Markel.

our back court is suboar defensively, i view thier back court as a major concern especially since bradley and smart are both excellent defender swho both create a ton of turnovers, both get in the open court and can get in the lane.

i dont think bogey gives us any space. he isnt a guy you need to chase around picks or a guy you need to lock on to outside the 3 point line. teams are happy to recover on to him. plus he plays the wing, its not like bogs is drawing bigs outside the paint.

id much rather markel. someone who is going to compete defensively against their uptempo attack. the celtics are relentless. Crowder has been an outstanding addition for them and smart and bradley have worked really well since rondo was moved.

we really dont have another option at PF. Thad to me isnt a PF. i think you can play him at the 4 for 20 minutes and get away with it, but starting him next to brook for 30-36 minutes i dont think works.
