Possible Nets Trade

Post#1 » by SV1113 » Wed Jun 24, 2015 7:27 pm

trade 1: Plumlee and the 29th pick to Toronto for Terrence Ross and the 20th pick

Nets get more athletic on the wing, and improve their outside shooting. Raptors get to add a big to their front line with some athletic ability and size

trade 2: Plumlee / Joe J/ Bogdanovic for Rudy Gay/Nik Staukas/ Carl landry

kings get cousins buddy mason plumlee and out of gay and landrys contracts 2 years early plus a nice shooter in bogs

Nets get a player Hollins loves in rudy gay and a marginal prospect in staukas

trade 3: Plumlee/ Joe Johnson picks 29 and 41 for Hibbert/ CJ miles/ Rudez and 11th pick

Nets do the deal to move up 18 slots in the draft

Pacers move hibbert for an expiring contract in joe that can also help george with the scoring load, and also get a mobile big man in plumlee who has good numbers as a starter in his 2 year career

Ross is another streaky shooter... it adds athleticism but not a pure shooter IMO. but sh*t I won't complain, him plus a higher pick. Why Toronto would do this?

Think we're losing too much for essentially Gay... IMO

Trade #3, sign me the **** up for! but no **** way Indy moves their 11th pick IMO for that...

Getting Staukas and Gay is intriguing, but we'd definitely have to deepsix Deron and Thad at that point. I think Gay makes like 13 per or so after this year which is manageable.

Trade 3 I do without thinking twice, we'd be able to get a PG and a large expiring.

Larry Bird would have to be drunk to make a deal that idiotic.

dont see any way toronto does this. they have valincuinas as their center of the future. Ross isnt great but he is at least as good as plumlee and they dont have a ton at the wing outside of derozan. and they could likely do better to fill their needs at #20 then with plumlee. I dont see the fit or the value for toronto to be honest. they would be creating a whole at SF by fixing backup center and then not having the 20 pick to replace orss

Why would the kings want to get out of gays contract? it is a solid deal they just extended him on? Plumlee being cousins buddy doesnt matter much considering the head coach doesnt want to keep cousins around. the value isnt bad but i dont see the need or motivation for the kings.

This is the least likely of the 3 in my opinion. im not sure that package could get hibbert and miles alone, let alone the 11th pick. not to mention, why would the pacers trade the 11th for plumlee when they can draft someone like cauley stein or kamensky? I can see them doing hibbert for johnson after the draft a big at 11, but im not sure that really helps us any.

None of these trades make any sense for the other teams to do. Plus Billy King isn't smart enough to be on the right side of a lopsided trade.

These deals will only come to fruition if Rod Thorn was still our GM.
With King, I see the reverse. Us getting ripped off and overpaying.
