Dude been wanting out, problem is no one wants to take him.
Dallas might since they're bottoming out most likely, but I wouldn't get my hopes up.

What a **** ing **** t
**** him. He wants to run now because he's butthurt that everyone up here is tired of his pussy bitch ****
There is no release, NO buy out. The rest of his contract should be VOIDED.
You can't be serious. A release, as in a waive, and he still gets paid?
If I'm Billy King, and Cuban has been in contact with this PUSSY I gut their roster lux tax be damned.
I've been telling you all for years this dude is a piece of **** but you guys wanna bring up how well he moves the ball or his RPM and off on rating. This is why I only like the stat geek stuff to a point, after awhile you have to look at a player with your own eyes and not off of inflated and stuffed statistics. This dude is trash and has been since he was traded here.

Re: Stein: Deron Wants Out
If dallas want him they have to trade for him, they have cap space so why not just give up devin harris and felton...I know they don't want all 3 and they just signed barea.
If not, then can we do what the bucks did to Larry sanders? They bought out his contract paying him I think just half his contract and they stretched it... maybe we can buy the rest of his 42 million dollar contract out for like 25 million and just pay it all off this year so we can clear his contract for next year

I'm against stretching Deron because I don't like the idea that we have to pay this guy to not play for our team.
But then I remembered that we've basically been doing that since Deron got his Max contract

Because now its come down to general principle.
I'd rather see this dude humiliated and either be a)run til he breaks down on the court or b)is benched behind Shane Larkin before I'd rather see the Nets appease this HALF A F**** with a buyout
Deron Williams is the reason why the NBA should go to NFL style contracts. If the NBA worked that way, this ass hole would be bagging groceries or selling cars right now instead of sucking up cap and making demands when he is one of the 5 worst starters in the SPORT.

Deron Williams for Felton straight up, that is the only thing that might make sense, a buyout and paying him money for no playing for yo uafter he has been so bad for the Nets is god awful

At the end of the season, King talked about having players who want to be in Brooklyn. I thought he was talking about D-Will because all signs pointed to him disliking NYC. I remember the rumors about his family nor liking the city. I never forgot about that. When asked about what he does in the summer, he said his family leave immediately to go to his San Diego home.
It's not a coincidence he chose between Dallas and Brooklyn when he was a free agent. He probably tried to convince himself that he'd like the city but quickly realized he never could.
Regarding this story, don't cut or stretch him. He's been terrible partly because of injuries and partly because he didn't want to be there. You can't suck on the court and now demand the team release you to go to the team of your choice. IMO, it's a guaranteed fact he'll play better there because he won't be under the spotlight and won't have the media destroying him everyday. If Dallas wants him, they can trade for him.
If you're going to do this, at least do everything to the best of your ability before you leave.
He was traded to New Jersey and complained about sight lines, his wrist, and teammates.
He re-signs with the Nets and is constantly injured. He never did more than what was required of him. He didn't hang around the locker room or have a relationship with other players. What a joke.
Don't pay him to play for another team especially one he'd be motivated to play for. Nah....let him someone trade for him OR he can opt-out of his contract at the end of this season.

Re: Re:
I totally understand the feelings of Deron's number 1 fan, MrDollarBills. Ideally you'd have this guy running laps around the court for the remainder of his contract.
The Nets have business decisions to make. The Mavericks have suddenly turned into a joke(points to Wes Matthews atrocious contract). So if the Mavs are willing to pay him an absurd salary(considering how trashy he has become), the Nets would be smart to jump on that chance.
Morally this is messed up. You just know that... if this guy doesn't get his wishes, there's a very high chance that he'll be cancer on the Nets. This is what's so so bad in the NBA. These guaranteed contracts. You're being f**** by a guy, one way or another and he has ALL the leverage. Jordan f*** up an organization. Deron Williams f**** up another. Half the league is tanking at times. It's just terrible.
I think ultimately the Nets have found a solution here IF the Mavericks are DUMB enough to pay him significant money that will offset how much you'd have to pay him. It could be a blessing in disguise, you no longer want this guy on your team because it's obvious his effort just wouldn't be there. It's a really **** situation because the Nets are thin as it is and it's really hard to restore credibility and team morale with all this stuff always floating around.
As a Mavs fan, I always thought we'd make a run at him when he was stretched. Didn't expect it to be this soon and certainly feel sick that the Mavs FO apparently will be trying to field a team to win 40-45 games next season, handing a first round pick for the lame Celtics fans to brag about. Maybe I'm delusional(forgive MDB!) but Deron still has a chance to be serviceable and it'll curious to see if the guy suddenly changes his attitude and is productive --- confirming that he was really 'a dog'. I wish the Mavs hadn't turned into a dumpster fire overnight.

Re: Stein: Deron Wants Out
We'll see how the buyout negotiations go. If Deron wants out so badly that he's willing to waive his last year and accept $10 million less this year - with that $10 million coming from Dallas it would be a God send to get out from under the contract.
The biggest issue is the timing. I understand the Dallas option is there now more because of the Jordan fallout, but we're not really left in a great position. It would've been great if we could've more aggressively targeted a PG in the draft. Or if we could've looked harder at other PG options in free agency. Larkin is really a change of pace guard, and I would've felt more comfortable targeting Lin, who while disappointing is a better floor general IMO.
This also ties back to the Thad signing which I've been saying all along. If Thad resigns we need to buyout/stretch Deron or Joe for Haywood/AV. Our chances of making the playoffs now are pretty slim. And all the talk after Thad resigning about how playoffs team attract top tier FA's can simmer as now we're going to be a non-playoff team with cash next summer trying to get someone to come here.

Re: Stein: Deron Wants Out
what a bitch cop out move. The guy gets PAID here in BKN and does NOTHING worth value, and now asks to be released?
I remember the day a student of mine came into my classroom and told me my Nets had traded for Deron Williams and I couldn't even work for the rest of the day I was so excited.
Now it's nothing but hostility and bitterness toward him. I can't believe it.
I want him gone but I don't want him to be released. I want a trade with assets coming back. Find a third or fourth team and make it happen.

Kerry, supposedly these talks have been going on for weeks. Also, I remember the bit about Ian Eagle of all people breaking the news that he expected Deron to be moved. He knew something. So while not certain, the Nets knew something was brewing.
Are you counting on Deron to produce? Playoff chances were already slim looking at how he didn't want to play for the Nets. It's scary to think that Dallas would give him 10M, but it wouldn't shock me. I take Deron over Rondo and that bum got 9.5M. If Dallas is giving him anything over 5 million, I'll feel sick, but whatever, our team sucks now, watch King take advantage of the downfall in Dallas.

I also hate the fact Deron can whine his way out of this but this is for the best IMO. The best Dallas would give us is probably Raymond Felton and we don't need him. It's better we save money, increase our flexibility for next summer, and cut bait with a loser like Deron. We don't need his poor attitude and work ethic rubbing off on our rookies.

If he wasn't a cancer before, he is now.
You see the rest of the guys on the team? Lopez and Thad love Brooklyn. At the press conference yesterday, Thad made it clear that his wife and kids drove the "I love Brooklyn" train. They wanted to be here.
RHJ can't wait to play for the Nets.
Even though Jarrett Jack is a net negative, he likes being a Net. He tweeted RHJ on draft night saying "Welcome to the squad."
Chris McCullough definitely wants to be in Brooklyn.
We have guys that want to be here and play here.

I know D-Will is serviceable and that's the problem I have. He's not a top 5 PG anymore but he can definitely distribute the ball.
I'm positive that his shooting woes were mostly mental and by going to Dallas, he'd feel less pressure and play markedly better...and that's the problem. You don't play like crap, don't do anything for the organization, and then request to be released. Not on my watch.
Have D-Will play the entire season. He can either raise his own stock by improving or opt-out at the end of the season.
If there's one good thing about this situation, I think this all but ensures that D-Will will opt-out after this season if he still plays for Brooklyn.
