Polling each fan forum to get their take on the upcoming season.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

My best guess is 30-40 depending on the health of Lopez

So going by RealGm votes:

Cleveland 60 (only 1 vote) (I'd say under about 55)
Chicago 50-54 (I'd give them 50, they played good even when Rose was out. )
Toronto 50-54 (Patterson and Jonas in the back court :noway: No bench)
Miami 50-54 (Wade, Bosh, Stat and Lou are all injuries waiting to happen. If they can stay healthy throughout the season then 50-54)
Atlanta 50-54 (Carroll swapped for THJ :noway: does Thabo come back healthy?)
Milwaukee 45-49 (Nice young Squad moving up, but Monroe on defense :banghead: )
Indiana 45-49 (losing West and Hibbert hurts more than people think, Hill and Turner replace them. Turner's looking good)
Celts 45-49 (over achieved winning 40-42, I don't see an improvement even with A.J. I.T should start, looked good late in the season)
New York 40-44 (dependent on Better defense improves wins, offense will be slow until All-Star break. Melo must stay healthy)
Washington 40-44 (Nene's getting old (32), dropped from 15ppg-11 and 7.5Rpg-5.5, Same with Gortot. Played pretty good in the P.O)
Charlotte 40-44 (losing Lance and gaining Batum - not bad. Can MKG, Walker, and Zeller step up?
Detroit 40-44 (Losing Monroe hurt, Ilyasova replaces him in the starting lineup.
Orlando 30-34 (Nothing lost, nothing gained, take that back they lost a defender in O'Quinn)
Brooklyn 30-34 (Brook has been injury Prone, Losing D. Will could be a good thing and a bad thing, Andrea Bargnani = bad thing)
Philly 25-29 (Outside of Okafor, Noel, and Embrid, name 3 players on their roster- Go

Lol at knicks having a better record than us. I think Toronto took a little step back (45 wins) No bench, no big men, health
Atlanta also took a big step back, Carrol was possibly MVP on that team especially on defense and you replace him with THJ? 45 wins
Don't think Indiana makes the cut, they lost West and Hibbert who were big on this team. Their defense is what kept them in the loop and I can't trust a rookie big just yet, 38 wins might get them in the playoffs though
Charlotte 30-34
Detroit 25-29
knicks 30 wins
Everything else I pretty much agree

Cleveland - 55-60 wins
Miami - 50-55 wins
Atlanta - 45-50 wins
Chicago - 45-50 wins
Washington - 45 wins
Toronto - 45 wins
Milwaukee - 40-45 wins
Boston - 40 wins

I think Detroit, Indiana, Charlotte and us will hover around the 36-39 win column for the 8th seed.

And Boston won't? Despite winning 40 games last year and going 20-11 post ASB and acquiring IT. They add Amir Johnson and don't really lose anyone.

How many games will BRK win this season?

The more I look at other teams, the less I think we make the playoffs. Oh well.

Im only going to do the teams who can make the playoffs.

1. Cavs - 60 to 65 wins. Best team in the East by far. They still need a SG though.
2. Bulls - 54 to 58 wins. By far the deepest team in the East. Their frontcourt is loaded. (Gasol, Noah, Mirotic, Taj Gibson, B Portis)
3. Heat - 50 to 54 wins. Made solid free agent signing but could easily get derailed by health.
4. Wizards - 44 to 48 wins. They will go as far as Wall and Beal take them.
5. Hawks - 42 to 46 wins. Losing Carroll will hurt them a lot as will Korver coming off of two different surgeries.

6. Nets - 40 to 45 wins. Lopez and Bogdanovic were among the best at their position in the East during the second half of the season. The Nets no longer lack athletes and the additions of RHJ, Reed, T Rob and Larkin vastly improves our team speed and defense.

7. Raptors - 38 to 42 wins. The Carroll signing was nice but they lost their best defender, Amir Johnson, and their best scorer, Lou Williams. I wouldnt be surprised if they start breaking this team up before the trade deadline because both DeRozan and Ross will be FAs next year.

8. Bucks - 38 to 42 wins. The new parts look nice and all but they seriously lack shooting. They are a young team and struggled to an 11-18 record after they traded Knight.

9. Pacers - 36 to 40 wins. This team is intriguing but very young. Miles Turner looks like a ROY candidate.

10. Celtics - 32 to 38 wins. I have no idea what Boston is doing with their roster. This prediction is based solely on the strength of their coaching staff.

I feel the opposite.

Atlanta might fall just as fast as they rose. Korver had elbow and ankle surgery and turns 35 in March. Going from Carroll to Sefolosha at SF is a huge downgrade.

Milwaukee sucked after the Brandon Knight trade. I dont think MCW is ready to be a good PG yet and outside of Khris Middleton they dont have any proven shooters. They feel a lot like Charlotte from last off season.

Toronto lost a lot in Amir Johnson and Lou Williams.

Return to Brooklyn Nets
