Nominees:

General Voting Rules:
Spoiler:
One of the reasons for doing this is to kill time during the dead of summer when there's nothing else to do and we're waiting for the next season. I will post a list of players and out of that list of players you vote for one. You also need to nominate a player not listed in the current voting pool but a player you'd like to see available to be voted for in the next round.

For instance, let's say it's the first round and the available candidates to vote for are LBJ, KD, Curry, Harden, and Westbrook. I decide to vote for LBJ this round but I believe CP3 is the next best player. Since CP3 is not available to be voted for, I nominate him to be included in the next round of available candidates. The nominee with the highest number of votes will be included as a candidate to vote for in round 2.

In the situation of a tiebreaker, a 24hr period will be given for people to change their votes. You can only change your vote to one of the players who shares the tiebreak.

If there's still a tie after 24hrs, I break the tie.

Simple, right?

Voting rules for non-Nets board posters:
Spoiler:
If you are not a regular on the Nets board or you don't post here often you need to vote for 3 rounds in a row in order for your votes to count.

I welcome outsiders to vote, but we don't want outsiders intentionally screwing up our rankings. No hard feelings but this is the most effective method I can use to make sure non-regular posters aren't sabotaging our system.

Here's the voting history of our Top 25 players threads since its inception:

well, there really arent any elite playoff centers i mean...

Mozgov, Bogut, Both Lopez brothers, Horford, Gortat, JV, olynick, chandler, asik are all easily not elite top 10 players. noah and dwight after injury ridden seasons dont belong either. Duncan isnt on that level anymore.

basically you are left with Gasol and Deandre. I dont think either are top 10, but gasol should make the top 15.

Don't let the accolades that the wings and guards usually get overshadow the fact that that the truly elite centers are the best two way players in the game.

Marc Gasol is the best center in the NBA. He is the most accomplished and anchors one of the best teams in the league- Grizzlies tied San Antonio for 4th most wins in the NBA with 55 this season.

DMC - Over the last 20 years, only five players -- David Robinson, Shaquille O'Neal, Kevin Garnett, Tim Duncan and Kevin Love -- have averaged at least 23.0 points and 12.0 rebounds in a season

Deandre Jordan - In February, Jordan averaged 16.0 points and 17.2 rebounds, one of only three players since 1985-86 to average 16 and 17 in a month (Detroit's Andre Drummond did it last April and former Atlanta big man Kevin Willis did it in December 1991 and February 1992). Four of Jordan's games in February saw him get at least 20 points and 19 rebounds, tied for second-most in the last 30 years (Shaquille O'Neal had five such games in a month, twice).

Gasol, DMC, Deandre are all top 15 players, and Gasol and DMC are definitely top 10. And with these guys putting up some HOF numbers, I'm gonna have to see some more from the other guys to convince me otherwise

DMc wasnt in the playoffs. you said "playoff centers" orginally. DMC will be in our top 10.

Gasol will be top 15, maybe top 10. he is righ tin that 9-12 range. Jordan is top 25, not top 10. not really all that close. probably 23ish

I said its a shame that no playoff centers are in our top 8. I believe that both Marc Gasol and DMC are top 10 players. I'd put Marc over DMC by virtue of the fact that Marc's team performed better than DMC's team. However, they're both top 10 players. Jordan is top 15. You must have some impressive stats for the 22 other players that you feel are better than Deandre Jordan. I'm actually starting to look forward to the rest of this list now

There's a tie between DMC and Marc Gasol.

Mkdaman1818 (who didn't vote for either player) or someone who hasn't voted yet can break the tie. If the tie isn't broken by the end of today, I will choose between the two and break the tie.
