i dont really see a whole lot of trade potential. we dont have any real chips outside of lopez, who isnt going to be traded and was just signed to a big contract.

the young guys we have(RHJ) are worth more to us then other teams.

the guys who have been cast away(trob, bargs, larkin) only have trade value if they play well, and if they play well we should keep them.

only 3 guys i see as potential trade chips are: Jack, Johnson, Bogs

Jack: good contract, veteran, liked around the league. but we have no PGs and hollins loves him. so i dont think he is moved unless its at the deadline if we are like 15 games under .500 or something.

Johnson: kind of the perfect player for our situation. one of our better players and shooters, has a contract that expires. helps us win now to try and be playoff relevant but expires and gives us huge cap room at seasons end. if he is dealt i only see it being for someone elses verison of joe, a large expiring who helps now (eric gordon types) or semi-star player on an overpaid deal who has worn his welcome (like when gay was dealt to sacramento.... maybe someone like derozan, although i wouldnt advocate that).

Bogs: the only guy i see who would have good value and is on a good contract. if we do make a trade, i think it would be him to bring in some PG help. maybe if someone like MCW goes on the block again.

Potential trades i could see:

Joe Johnson for someone like Derozan, Kris Middleton. a player who was overpaid but talented whose team wants to hit the reset button on and get cap room back for.

Joe Johnson for someone like Eric Gordon in a "your trash expiring for my trash expiring" type deal

Bogdanovic for Isiah Thomas, MCW, Jeremy Lin or some point gaurd to a team looking for shooting on the wing

gun to my head no deal is made before the deadline... and at the deadline nothing major is done unless we are like 10-20 games under .500 and a lost cause.

I wouldn't trade a bag of balls for any of that.

Joe is probably our best bet to get something decent back. Jarret Jack was able to get an offer of a mid to early 20ś first round pick from Washington last year. Joe will get less minutes this year but if he can be efficient I think a contender or team trying to make it to the playoffs would offer that pick by the deadline. Maybe Teams like the pistons, Pelicans, Wizards, Grizzlies, Magics, wouldn't doubt the kings either. Ofcourse they would probably need find a 3rd team to make salaries match

im sure toronto will try to get much more than a declining isolation type player at 34 than joe johnson, toronto still likes derozan and milwaukee is high on middleton who is 2 way player and improving, they still like potential of michael carter williams

rather keep bogs and his upside than thomas or jeremy lin , celtics arent giving up thomas anyway and he is a scoring pg anyway

likei said, i find it unlikely we make a deal. but those are the only types that could concievably be made.

I think it's unlikely we don't.
King is all about making changes...some major some minor.

I'd like to see what Jack, Bogs and Karasev could fetch, but I don't think we make any moves until the new year once most of our players are tradable. I wouldn't be surprised if some of our low key guys like Larkin, Ellington, T.Rob or maybe Reed play well enough to have some value. I don't see anything drastic but I feel there will be a tweak or two.

would you still want to trade these guys if they play above their potential? id like to keep them if i see some potential and upside to be apart of the nets future than to trade them for some type of trade that doesnt drastically improve the nets. i dont see any of these guys getting us back some type of impact player worth trading for if their values goes up. i would even keep jack for a few years as a stopgap if he surprises people with good pg play until we find the next pg
