The Lakers waived him should the Nets pick him up? I say why not.

I'm really surprised the Lakers waived him. He looked real impressive.

Do you think he can be better than Harper on this team?

King wont touch him... too many personal/off court issues in college. He is a legit shot blocker though... although he pretty much chucks way too many threes on offense. couldnt possibly be worse then bargs, but i dont think king would consider it.

lakers waived him because scott and kupchak felt it would take a while for him to develop on both ends and they didnt want to wait for that . he is a project type but skilled due to shotblocking and defense.

We have no shot blocking on this team once Lopez sits, maybe Robinson sometimes, but this guy is 7 feet 250 and he's not a stiff. Think we should drop Reed or Bargs

Do you think we should sign him? Willie Beast is out for 6 weeks .

no, willie reed had dominant summer league and was impressive the past few summer leagues. he is more ready and nba ready than upshaw plus upshaw has had issues with heart, drugs, and suspensions that surround him. upshaw also has problems i hear with basic fundamentals of the game and is a major developmental prospect. king wants guys with good character backgrounds and less baggage.

king wont sign anyone with issues off court. he wont take upshaw.
king is in a lame duck year. he is only signing names(bargani, robinson, ellington) and good charecter guys. whatever he can to help keep his job

Didn't know he was that bad off the court no wonder he didn't get drafted.
BK needs to take the training wheels off his players this is NY this team needs some personality especially since no one watches, the team is boring.

It's not going to happen. It's the main reason why he didn't try to go after Lance Stephenson even when his value was next to nothing.
One would think that a time when the Nets need talent at almost any cost, he'd try to get the best most talent for his money but he prefers a clean, family friendly image and a locker room with zero problems.
Obviously, only teams with no internal problems win. As long as the entire locker room gets along, what happens on the court doesn't matter. The Nets will be a brotherhood and laugh off the court, the Celtics will be laughing all the way to the draft lottery.

How many knuckleheads do you see on the Spurs and Warriors?
I don't blame King one bit. You're talking about D and F tier players that King is passing on here, not A tier studs like DeMarcus Cousins who is hot headed but the talent is so overwhelming that you're willing to put up with his bull **** to win games. Also, after dealing with Deron Williams poisoning this team for the last 4 seasons, yeah having character guys around means something in order to change the culture, draft pick be damned.
Could we use Lance Stephenson? Yep. But with him getting ran off of two NBA teams the headache isn't worth it. He's also a grade A piece of garbage who pushed a woman down a flight of steps and sexually assaulted another one. But King is a horrible guy for not wanting that animal being here in his hometown where he'll probably end up getting into trouble.

We're not in title contention like the Spurs or the Warriors. We're just trying to win as many games as possible to prevent the Celtics from getting the #1 overall pick.
If we have to put up with knuckleheads for one season, so be it. This is a throwaway bridge year anyway.
I don't think we should go after every troubled soul and ignore their past but I do think there's a point at which you become the fool when you're unwilling to consider someone because they don't have a super-clean past.
If there's any year for which we really need to win ballgames, it's this year. If Boston gets the #1 pick and Lance has any bit of positive play for the Clippers, there's only going to be one fool left in the room: Billy King.

Intriguing to say the least--but this team needs to stay the farthest distance away from any type of distraction. I think King and staff pass him by.

Green is. Someone on that team banged porn star Lisa Ann and wanted to turn her out too.
Funny they would've drafted Cousins if they weren't set on getting a star.

jesus

if that's true, no sir.
I don't put banging Lisa Ann as knucklehead activity, that sounds like a fun time. albeit a risky one healthwise. I'm pretty sure even though we have good guys on our team they've all had their fair share of whores.
and its not about being super-clean. Its also about how guys conduct themselves in the locker room because that kind of negative **** can ruin teams. Lance was by all accounts a serious locker room problem in his last year in Indiana and the Hornets were tripping over themselves to get him the hell out of there. I can't fault King for wanting to pass on that.
We're not on the Spurs/Warriors level, but you look at their roster you don't see dudes who are known as locker room cancers or just grade A pieces of ****. I'm not talking about a guy that may smoke weed and got caught, but a grade A piece of **** that guys end up hating and ruins the chemistry of the locker room. The Nets just had to deal with that, do you blame them not wanting to go that route just to maybe creep into the playoffs? Lance could be useful but he could have come in here, clash with Hollins, disrupt the locker room, or god forbid get arrested because he'd go right to hanging on with his loser Lincoln high bros.

king researched into signing lance stephenson, and seemed willing to take a chance. charlotte had no interest in trading him to us or for what we offered i recall.
