Game thread... awesome. I think we are going to surprise everyone and beat the Bulls.
Starters IMO Jack/Ellington/Joe/Thad/Lopez with Larkin/Boggie/RHJ/TRob/Bargs off the bench.

I would go
Lopez
Young
Johnson
Markel
Jack
We need Markel's defense

Welp here we go, It looks like Jay Z is praying in that video still.
"We're athletic. We can run. We can get up and down," Joe Johnson added. "We gotta cause havoc defensively to get out and get easy baskets. So I know coach wants to run. We've got the guys to do it."
What running and defense is he talking about? He's a sieve on D and on offense he will be trailing or standing in a corner if he doesn't have the ball

love the attitude though
Play hard, and good things will happen. That's what I believe. It may not be a win every night, but playing a full 48 with urgency and intensity will keep you hanging around.

Markel hasn't played all preseason. Ellington will get the nod.
Jack shouldn't start. The ball movement is atrocious when he's in. I would start Sloan.

it will be the second of a back to back for the bulls, maybe that helps.
more likely they smash us and we come out with low effort

At a home opener? I doubt that but I do expect that to be the case on Friday against the Spurs.

FINALLY !!! Going to be a long season put praying for the best ... I expect the Nets to grind out a win here, Bulls will be back to back and they still need time to gel. I also seen somewhere that Nets never lost on Brooklyn home openers yet so hope that streak keeps going.

bulls are an offensive team now with hoiberg, hoiberg is using noah off the bench and mirotic is starting for now. they use mcdermott more as a scorer. derrick rose is playing with a mask. dunleavy is injured.

Snell, Rose, Butler, Niko, and Gasol is the starting 5.

I'd expect a lot of Bulls fans in the crowd also game 2 of the WS going on at the same time, I don't think it's out of the question.

The last thing I expect is low effort honestly.

We matchup well vs Chicago especially with Noah being moved to the bench. We are both half court teams so game flow shouldnt be an issue. Lopez needs to dominate vs Gasol. He cant let a 35 year old center shut him down. I expect a win.

The Flip Saunders news made me less excited for this game and opening week for the league in general to be honest.

Hollins should adjust the starting lineup according to the opponent.
Chicago goes big on the wing. I think Markel should be the normal starter at the 2 but I wouldnt start him vs Chi. I would go
C: Lopez - Matches up well with Gasol. Noah is the guy who give Lopez trouble.
PF: Young - Matches up well with Mirotic. Young is at his best when playing a face up 4. If Gasol was at PF he would stuggle.
SF: Johnson - Has perhaps the best matchup vs Snell. We need to ride him.
SG: RHJ - Here is the big change. Butler is a big SG and Markel doesnt have the size to play with Butler. I would go big here and let RHJ D up Butler.
PG: Jack - Rose is banged up and still dealing with double vision. I think Jack gets off to a good start in a sneaky good matchup.
The Bulls will be coming off a tough game with the Cavs tonight. I think we have a good chance at a W.

yes. this team rarely has come to play in a game you thought they would. if they come out from jumpstreet with high energy tis a great sign the culture is changing. i dont expect it as we dont have any real high effort leaders

to me its the only thing i do expect. it wont be a very live crowd. RHJ is likely not starting. and bogs/jack/joe/thad/lopez isnt really a grou of super competitive high energy guys. not sayng we dont start well, but i dont expect high effort/energy to start

i dont like the matchup
Rose vs. Jack is pretty lopsided even if you get the worst version of rose
Butler can lock down joe or bogs pretty easily. he will win that matchup regardless of who it is with
Mirotic likely iwns his matchup with thad, and creates space by drawing him outside. he has given us trouble last year
Gasol won the vs brook last year in the game noah was out down the stretch when lopez was beasting. gasol had hsi way and lopez was just 13/8. gasol overall pretty much destroyed us in those 4 games. brook might play really well but gasol likely gets his 20/10
we could certainly win, but i dont see how the matchup favors us. its pretty much a terrible matchup for us.... they are much better in the back court and on the wings, and have a center who can go blow for blow with brook and make him work defensively
