Brooklyn Nets 2016 Draft Thread

"Sure would be nice to have some draft picks wouldn't it?" - Nets fans everywhere right now
I know we don't have any draft picks on the horizon, but with the season looking so bleak that KD2BK crackpot theories are starting to look appealing, I thought it would be nice to take a very early look at some of the talent in college basketball this season.
When it comes to the Nets, its clear that something needs to be done about the gaping black hole at PG. Here are two of the most intriguing guards:
Kris Dunn
PG (Providence - Junior)
21.6 years old | 6'4" | 205 lbs
2014-15 NCAA (33 GP)
15.6 PPG 5.5 RPG 7.5 APG 24.9 PER

Kris Dunn is the most complete guard in college basketball. He's struggled with a shoulder injury that required 2 surgeries over a span of 18 months, forcing him to miss the entier 2013-14 season. Still, these injuries haven't stopped his talent from showing as he lit up the NCAA in 2015 resulting in, "Big East player of the year honors, a loss in the conference tournament finals to Villanova, and a six seed in the NCAA Tournament. Dunn stayed healthy all season and put up some of the best numbers in the country, 18 points per-40 minutes, 6.5 rebounds, nearly 9 assists and over 3 steals" Many believe he could've been a lottery selection if he declared for the 2015 draft after leading the NCAA in assists, but he elected to get his degree and work on his game for another year in Providence.
Honestly, with his skill there's a chance he could end up as a top 5 pick in this year's draft, so fans shouldn't get their hopes up for the Nets getting him.

14.6 PPG 4.7 RPG 3.4 APG 20.4 PER

Caris LeVert might be the most intriguing guard in college basketball this season. The 6'7" senior out of Michigan's length makes him versatile enough to play from positions 1-3 (PG/SG/SF). His versatility and his game reminds me of Shaun Livingston. He has become a genie at utilizing his length to his advantage - posting up smaller defenders, using a high & quick release on his jumper, making entry passes that smaller PGs simply cannot, and using his lateral quickness & length to stay in front of his opponent on defense.
A complete fracture of his left foot sidelined him last season, and his numbers aren't nearly as impressive as Dunn's. Still,this may be a product of the lack of talent he has to work with on Michigan. Remember, Livingston's numbers were quite pedestrian on the Cavs but he almost looked like a different player entirely on the Nets.
If the Nets are able to get into the draft, LeVert might be the player to look out for. His versatility makes him the prototype of the Shaun Livingston type of guard that has thrived on the Nets before. He won't struggle getting the ball to Lopez like Jack and Larkin since his length enables him to make passes that smaller guards simply cannot. Furthermore, his versatility makes him capable of handling playing as both the primary or secondary ball handler.

anyone want these players from celtics when they use our draft pick? david lee, jared sullinger, jae crowder, jonas jerebko, or tyler zeller. im assuming they land ben simmons or skal labissiere with our pick. or jaylen brown.

We own our 2nd rounder. I guess this thread has some merit.

I don't mean to try to derail, but Danny Ainge actually has a pretty good drafting track record, especially considering he has barely had any lottery picks during his tenure.

Like who? James Young? Marcus Smart? The Celtics are good because Danny Ainge made trades for Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, Tyler Zeller, etc.
It's kind of embarrassing to have a fanbase ignorantly troll our board when the Celtics have nothing to show for it. They have never drafted any notable stud talent since the rebuild but have the nerve to come in here and talk crap. You can even argue we drafted two much better players than the Celtics did this year.

Like who? James Young? Marcus Smart? The Celtics are good because Danny Ainge made trades for Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, Tyler Zeller, etc.

I'm just saying that Ainge has gotten Rondo, Al Jefferson, Tony Allen, Kendrick Perkins, Delonte West, Gerald Green, Avery Bradley, and Jared Sullinger with non-lottery picks. And the Celtics have gotten some good players, this is the second year of the rebuild talent coming in, give them time to develop. Smart is a solid starting PG as a 2nd year player and the other guys haven't gotten a shot yet. I saw this post and just wanted to point out that saying that Ainge is a bad drafter is completely inaccurate. I'm not coming here to take shots, or talk crap, just saying the facts. And yes, Hollis-Jefferson is good, I like him a lot as a player, but Hunter is pretty damn good too, and I doubt McCullough is better. Trust me, I was critical of the Rozier pick too and I thought it was one of Ainge's worse selections of his tenure as GM, but overall Ainge has done a good job with the picks he has had.

Never said Ainge was an awful drafter. I respect his resume but he isn't Sam Presti or R.C. Burford either. Yet, Celtic fans come in here acting like it.
