This pretty much ends his two season tenure with the Nets. I know I criticized him often but he has heart and a great determination for the game. I hope he can join a contender in a few seasons. Good luck, Jack.

Any favorite Jarrett Jack games or moments? I think the game winner over Stephen Curry still ranks as my favorite one.

Well, that su... :-?

He will be missed and as you already hinted at, considering that his contract is not fully-guaranteed next season, you basically have no other choice than to cut him. No way you tie up 6.5 M for someone who is aging and recovering from a severe knee injury. Maybe bring him back on a cheaper contract later in free agency as a veteran/locker room leader.

Oh man, this sucks. I wonder what the corresponding move will be. I think Goatrigh- er... Boatright is still with the Pistons D-League team. Tony Wroten is the obvious Free Agent. I'd rather Larkin start then bring in Wroten to start, and Boatright would just be third string.

WOW! This is just awful news. The guy wasn't the best player but he acted like it and wasn't afraid of ****. Too bad it had to happen against the **** ass Celtics.

Nets are going to be desperate for a PG now. Jennings or Lawson might end up here. I can see them signing Wroten too.

Ugh...

Jarrett Jack brought the most heart to the Nets PG position since Kidd. Dude always gave it his all and went down fighting. Sad to see him go down like that

shame... was liking to attitude he was giving in the first game of the new year...

guess those knees wore out... you know, run them down right Lionel?

Hope he makes a full recovery, good competitor, questionable and easily the only guy who gives a damn out there...

The guy is a class act and gave the Nets 100% to the best of his ability. There are Net fans on a particular blog who badmouthed this guy to no end while moaning and whining about cutting that piece of **** Deron but Jarret Jack gave a damn about this team and trying to compete and that's all we ever asked. Good luck to him.

I think they already have it but they may not do anything with it to stay under the tax.

I think the Nets win more games with Lopez and Young getting more shots now. Larkin will be a problem vs bigger PG's but he's a much better shooter and has 3p range.
Blessing in disguise for the Nets IMO.

Jack is a big loss. Always played with heart and was someone that it felt lead other guys. Now, the Nets are pretty much down to Young as that type of player who sets a standard and example for others, but doesn't seem very vocal. Guys like Johnson and Lopez are very subdued and enigmatic.

Larkin's improvement this year has been remarkable, so maybe he steps up and seizes on the opportunity. Still, the Nets depth was already bad, so this is really just pushing this team to the limits. I'd take a chance on Lawson if he's available for free, his contract is low risk, so the Nets might as well roll the dice on him and see what they have in him.

By the way, just on queue: viewtopic.php?f=8&p=45540410#p45540410 The most active thread on that board forum wasn't enough, they have to pour it in.

It's a damn shame this happened. I have long been Jack's biggest support and I think this is going to end his career. It sicken's me that when I read comments on "the blog" people are celebrating this as a good thing for the team. They dont have many knowledgeable posters left over there. I keep reading how Jack is "sneaky" bad and that his numbers dont mean much. Last year the same people harped on his +/- ad nauseum.

We will see how meaningless his "numbers" are. Jack was the glue of this team. For those who dont think so, they should rewatch the flagrant on Lopez. The only person who came to his aid was Jack. Not Thad. Not Bogs. Not Joe. Maybe I am old school but you dont let your best player get gooned like that without getting in the other teams face. Do you think the Warriors would be passive if that was Curry? How about the Cavs if that was Lebron?

Without Jack's leadership out on the court I fear for the worst. A lot of our guys are playing for their next contract that they will likely get from a different team. Things are setting up to get really ugly to finish out the season.
