Dwight Howard?

Post#1 » by isekii » Mon Feb 29, 2016 2:36 pm

Anyone think him and Brook can play well together?

Obviously not overpaying him by any means, but Him + Brook with our current team intrigues me. Pound the ball to Dwight or Lopez with the ability of Lopez to hit the outside shot?

RHJ can help with his defense. Bogie/Ellington will have a field day on 3?
All we need to do is grab a decent pg.

Also I don't think Lopez has the EGO to be THE MAN of the team and I feel like he'll be ok being 2nd option.

It wouldn't work. Brook and Dwight are the type of centers that need a stretch four to open the court. Also, I doubt Dwight would be content with being the rebound and defense guy. He would still want like 10-12 shots per game.

To reunite with Phil? I hope for the Nets' sake that he does

I can see that being a decent fit. Robin is making like 13 mil a season though, I dunno if you want to have that much cap taken up by a back up. They need a PG badly imo.

The NY media would light him up though if the team flounders.

It makes sense. Porzingas is a stretch 4 which is exactly what works next to Howard. Phil was all about bigs in LA. Howard / Porzingas / Melo will be his new Bynum / Gasol / Odom.

Duncan and DRob were both above average passers for bigs. Lopez and Howard are not.

Duncan and Robinson were far more skilled players.

I would agree their BBIQ is far superior but Lopez is a decent passer this year. I'm not 100% sure whether howard is a competent passer or not.

Bennett got waived by the raps. Doesn't hurt to give this guy a shot. Former 1st pick.

Is he a good character guy? Because that's the culture Marks is going for.

I just don't see Marks giving guys like Howard and Lawson a shot IMO.

I think he will end up in Miami or Boston. I'd lean to Miami a lot more, though.

Unless you're using it to make fun of him, Bennett's "1st pick" status doesn't take away from how bad of an NBA player he is.

You know things are bad when your home country team waives you.

   you dont think he has any chance of panning out? Figure this year we have nothing to lose and we have a roster spot open.

no. dwight is nowhere near drob offensively. and we dont even need to compare brook to tim duncan on either end.

i like dwight, id love to have him at center. but not next to brook.

I really want to know what Cleveland was thinking. Maybe the league forced their hand and promised to repay them with another 1st overall pick.
