I hate when brook or thad sit. its bad for the development of the younger guys. maybe they get more minutes but they start doing things that are outside their game because we have no talent on the floor and someone needs to try and score.

I agree overall but who knows...maybe if Reed looks good enough, Marks mulls dealing Lopez for an established wing and then signs one of the available free agent big men.

how god could reed really look in 10-15 games to warrant making that decision? i think if you move lopez you have plenty of C options in FA anyhow

8 points, 6 rebounds for Sims. Not bad for his first game.

meh, kind of been invisible. emptyish stats. all kind of garbage points/rebounds. he did have 1 nice hustle play for a rebound and lay in.
larkin has looked really good tonite, for whatever that is worth. kill patrick continues to play well. i dont anticipate sims getting a second 10 day. he looks small, slow, and just kind of floating around

It was clear to me that he is too slow and just not good enough to be a legitimate NBA player.

Reed is a keeper for back up C.
KILL Patrick is so legit.

I only keep reed if he takes the minimum again. to me he is a giant scrub.
i do like kilpatrick, he can be a good 6th man i think. i dont think he continues to be this guy who scores 20 points in 20 minutes every night but i think he will be a good offensive wing off the bench

Yeah but you're not really basing any of that on facts, just conjecture.

he has played less then 400 minutes on the season. there arent really alot of facts to go on, and anything we have is small sample. PER36 numbers arent useful for someone playing less then 12 minutes a game. he has a 58TS% as a low usage center with 90% of his shots coming in the paint. 70% of his points are assisted on and 18% of the rest are on second chance points.
What does that really tell us other then he is a low usage backup big who gets some garbage points?
Watching him i see a scrub. a big stiff who finshes wide open plays when someone gives him the ball under the hoop or he gets a rebound at the rim. outside of that, he is just there. lowish iq, doesnt defend the pick and roll well, you cant give him the ball and ask him to score or make the right pass, his screens are meh.
i mean he isnt like bargani, where he has enough volume to hurt you. he plays his role and doesnt do more then that. the issue is his role is a 3rd center or 5th big. you keep a guy like that on your team when they make the minimum.
you keep a guy like willie reed when he makes the minimum and you are happy with it. he would be due 1.2M next season. just like markel, you can find a similar project/dleaguer to make the minimum and fill that same role. can reed be a useful player? sure. but its not like he is going to be the next whiteside. cut bait and look in summer camp/dleague for the next guy and hope you strike gold. Reed isnt a rotaiton player on a good team.
if we were over the cap then those things dont matter. but every million will count this offseason

I want to keep Reed around at backup center, He can block shots with his long arms and honestly I have seen him come in and change the game with just him being active.
The game we had yesterday, he did a very good job defending the rim and Drummond. Drummond finished with only 16 points and 9 rebs but mostly because of Sims being to small to hold him. We was tied up for most of the game and a big part was because of Reed but in the 4th when Sims took his spot that's when we lost the game.
I have seen a few games where Reed comes in and change the pace of the game . I would definitely want him back as a 3rd string center. Wish idiot Billy King would of gave him the same contract Kilpatrick just got, 2-3years at minimum with team options, that's how you can tell Marks is miles smarter than King.
