In this market good value signing and it's only two years. It feels weird to see the Nets make solid moves now that Billy boy is gone.

So is he pegged to be the starter? Maybe we'll see Cmac and him battle it out for the job?

Excellent value signing and guy to have off of the bench but I hope we land Marvin Williams

Gotta say, I don't know much about him. Looks like a good rebounder, but not much of a contributor on offense (doesn't look like he can shoot, 22% outside of 15 feet and inside the 3pt line last season). According to RAPM, he rates as a solid defensive player though.
9 million a year for that sounds like pretty good value given some of these other contracts being given out. IDK if he's starting material though.

He's known as Mr. Energy in Utah. A fan favorite.

I like Booker. Plays like a middle linebacker.
After this deal, the Nets have about $31 million left in cap space (renounce all the free agent holds).

Booker and Hamilton as bigs off the bench?
Maybe they're sold on McCullough as the PF of the future...?
They could still sign Terrence jones, or maybe make a cheap play on Anthony Bennett. I'm thinking they would try the latter.

sign anthony bennett for minimum. i dont think mccullough is starting, he is raw and barely played in college.
for person above, nets are out of running for marvin williams.

I like this deal maybe Marvin Williams cost to much for what he was asking.

Good, solid backup but definitely not starter material which is what I believe he has been signed as.

That might be the best option remaining really. Get Bennett for peanuts and just run a three headed monster of him, Cmac, and Booker, and hopefully get high energy, IQ, and defense out of them.
Best case scenario too is that a Bennett reclamation project pans out over the year, and he and Lopez become our front court.
Also it's imperative now that we get our starting SG. Crabbe, Lee, Gordon, Barnes... Give me one of those guys.
Even though Lee was an unprofessional turd for us, I hope he's learned and grew and is ready to be a leader now.

Booker is 9th among PFs in DRPM.

We have 31 million in cap space. We don't have to sign anyone for peanuts right now, especially since the cap is going up even more next year, so we can hand out some big contracts right now without having to worry about it.
There are still some solid PFs out there that we can get for the $10-15 million dollar range, and then we can spend a similar amount of money for a SG. Plug up the rest of the holes with scrubs on cheap contracts. We're not going to be a great team, but we can be a mediocre one for a couple of years until we get our picks back. And by then, we'll have a ton of cap space again too.

Booker is a positive defender in both single and multi DRAPM. If we can get some more talent in here ASAP i'll love this signing even more

I feel like Pau is about the money, not necessarily winning. IDK for sure, but that's the feeling I get about him. I feel like if we wanted, we could make a push for him. If we do, that opens up options to move Lopez to fill a need at wing or PF. Use the remaining money to go after Crabbe (who I'm starting to like more and more as I read up on him).
Otherwise, teams have been burning through cap space, and we haven't. It's fair to doubt our ability to use that money to sign anybody, but there are some solid PFs that are available that we're supposedly interested in (Kris Humphries, Jordan Hill). Wouldn't mind offering Courtney Lee a contract either.
I feel like there are enough players that liked Lin as a teammate, and I feel like he'll be a good recruiter for us.
