I can't see this as being anything more than competition in camp, like last year when we signed Dahntay Jones. Its a way of telling someone like Beech that they're not just going to be gifted a roster spot.

its an ok signing i guess.... but my concern would be that we just added another guy who struggles with injuries who isnt any younger/better then our current crop of guys. just 1 more guy to split the minutes.

Vasquez and LeVert will likely be on the shelf. Some of these camp additions could see time if GV's ankle doesn't improve.

Correct.
It appears that Vazquez and Levert will not be 100% healthy at the start of the season, and the team doesn't want to rush Whitehead's development too much.
These signings are primarily for Long Island but also if one of them happens to outplay one of the 12-15th man guys. If they do well enough, they will be on the active roster while the player they beat out will be sent down or released (depending on the years of experience and/or whether they accept being sent down).

Seems to be a pattern. Veterans who have had down years. If they play well for the team, they improve their value and become tradeable.

Correct. In a system similar to D'antoni that could inflate their stats.

I don't think either of these guys will be around come the deadline, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Scola, Vasquez and Foye being shipped out to a contender looking for bench depth at the deadline. It could bring back a 2nd rounder or little used talent and will give the young guys more of a chance to show what they've got over the last 3rd of the season.

So, are they gonna cut someone?
It sounds like it's not just a camp deal.

The Nets drafted Ryan Anderson, who was in the state first team then...
