Humm...Bojan Bogdanovic for Aaron Gordon seems a bit more plausible. Lin is currently playing for Kenny Atkinson - a Knicks assistant coach he grew close to and credits Linsanity for. I doubt Atkinson, or even Sean Marks, would be interested in severing that bond and ruining the relationship they've built in the Nets locker room over the past few months.

Gordon on the other hand...

One season ago, the Orlando Magic traded Tobias Harris for Ersan Ilyasova, Brandon Jennings, and Jodie Meeks

Ilyasova - had a year left in his contract, and is now playing for the 76ers
Jennings - had a year left in his contract, and is now playing for the Nix
Meeks - was actually poised to play an important role for the team, but is returning back from an operation he had over the summer

Essentially, the Magic traded Tobias Harris, a rookie who hasn't yet panned out, for Jodie Meeks, a veteran floor spacer.

The direction of the Orlando front office has tilted towards immediate gratification as of late. Orlando is a team that hasn't come close to a post-season appearance since Dwight's departure and has gotten impatient with it's rookie development.

While Aaron Gordon is an exciting talent, the signing of Serge Ibaka has relegated Gordon to a bench role. Vogel has tried to work Gordon into the starting rotation at the 3, but the team has struggled.

The Magic are 29th in Offensive Rating and their desperate need for perimeter scoring is apparent. Defensively, the team is competent with Ibaka and Biyombo anchoring their interior presence, good enough for 17th in DRtg. Their biggest position of need is a role that Bogdanovic can easily fill, while Gordon is a flawed fit at best.

The Magic have shown an affinity for foreign (Fouriner, Ibaka, Biyombo) and specifically Croatian (Rudez, Hezonja) players and given your desire to move on from Payton and the history detailed earlier, the Magic Front Office and fans doesn't seem to trust its rookie development. For the Magic, Bogdanovic fills a position of need. For the Nets, Gordon's versatility as a 3/4 + his strong rebounding/defensive skillset would make him a player who could learn a lot from Trevor Booker.

There's no denying Bojan has legitimate NBA talent, but given his strengths (offense) limitations (defense) and overlapping skillset (Harris, Skil, Foye, LeVert) he's likely to be far more valuable to another team than BKN. A frontcourt of Ibaka and Biyombo and a backcourt of Payton and Fouriner could definitely compensate for some of Bojan's limitations much more than the Nets could.

Plus, the move would reunite former teammates for both teams

Hell to the no no.

How about Bogdonovich and Kilpatrick for this year's first and a future pick.

OP I love your enthusiasm for your team, but honesty what team is gonna trade a top 5-10 PG in his prime for a backup PG? Just because we've been losing a ton of games recently doesn't mean the FO is incompetent lol. Try asking Cavs Lebron for Ibaka

It is not going to happen for next three seasons. There is a reason for Atkinson and Mark to keep saying this is a season for development, although Lin really believes Nets has a chance to make the playoffs. But I think Lin and LeVert have to play at least 70 games for the chance. They would have played tonight if it was one of those games to make or break the playoffs.
So we will see Lin and LeVert come back only with 100% healthy and ready to make meaningful impact. Yes, 100%. Lin's absence actually opens the door for more team development. But I do not like to see the door for making the playoff is closing too soon.

I'm not super attached to lin... especially if a longer term PG was in the mix.... but payton is just a bad fit for how this team plays.

Why would that matter? Your frontcourt lineup is anchored by Ibaka and Biyombo. The Magic have 0 need for another starting frontcourt contributor

Serge is an old man now and not as effective as he used to be. We don't know how old he is but he definitely moves like he is in his thirties.

I still think Brook is better than both Bis and Ibaka. Vuc's softness is maddening.

vucevic is just a younger lopez who doesnt shoot 3s. if we move brook we need a defensive center not a younger version of him.

Vucevic gets rebounds and still manages to post up pts....

or do we just ignore his past before Vogel and Ibake came aboard?

Maybe i dont want my center shooting 3s... cuz its sad enough he may be the better 3pt shooter on this god forsaken team

What is Lopez doing thats miles beyond Vucevic?

Vucevic can't be the only piece either.... they'll need to add more to it to send back to us.

36% on threes on nearly six attempts per game.

In my opinion, bigs today need to either shoot threes or block shots. Vucevic does neither consistently right now.

NBA Rumors: Magic might trade Nikola Vucevic, Aaron Gordon after Biyombo signing

While picking up both Ibaka and Biyombo are going to do wonders for the Magic in terms of rim protection and overall defensive prowess, they currently have a logjam in their front court with Ibaka, Biyombo, Aaron Gordon, and Nikola Vucevic. So who’s getting traded?

Nets fans know what happens when a GM is on the hot seat.

Aaron Gordon for Bojan Bogdanovic
