I don't know how much to read into this, but I would he assume he knows his body and when he can come back.

I can't even imagine how good we could be with Dinwiddie off the bench if he can even be 80% of himself.

Harden/Dinwiddie
Kyrie/Shamet
Harris/Green
KD/Blake
Claxton/Aldridge

It's almost not fair to not play at all guys like Bruce Brown, Deandre Jordan or Tyler Johnson. But what choice do we have?

Instead of hating on us signing corpses of Blake and LMA they should really be worried about Din. Of he comes back soon it's over, and if he resigned most teams better hit that rebuild button. This team going to be DYNASTY FOR YEARS TO COME.

I am torn about this. I'd love him to opt in or resign with us, but the Nets really doesnt have enough to offer him, whether its the salary demand or the role on this team. If he decides to stay as 6th man or a backup PG, its great but I kinda feel sorry for him that he has to make so much sacrifice. If he decides to leave in the summer, I wish him good luck but kinda feel bad he cant stay with us to compete for next year's title.

I have similar thoughts on resigning Din also. For me this comes down to two main factors, economics, do the numbers make sense? ( factoring in age, potential fit with roster, other available alternatives etc ) secondly his health situation, long term perspective.

Dinwiddie drops another hint today, replying to a question about his recovery that he has started playing basketball a couple of weeks ago, and sees a realistic chance to play "in a playoff atmosphere".

Go Spence!

if we can get Spencer back that would put us over the edge:

Harden/Dinwiddie
Irving/Shamet
Harris/Brown
Durant/Green
Jordan/Griffin/Claxton

if we can get those 11 guys to the playoffs and to stay on the floor we are winning this thing.

Harden/Irving/Spencer/Harris/KD is a disgusting death lineup that could drop 200 in regulation.

How deep we would that is unreal...

Harden Dinwiddie James
Irving Shamet Tyler
Harris Brown TLC
Durant Green Alize
Jordan Griffin Claxton

Unreal depth Chart like in video game...

Supreme hats off to Spencer. He has been singularly focused on rehabilitation and contributing FOR US, ever since his injury. I pray for his continue recovery and health, he could swing a series.

Whenever the season ends, however, will be crunchtime for him and the Nets. Dinwiddie has a $12.3 million player option that he admits he will not exercise, making him a free agent. Dinwiddie said that he’d like to remain with the Nets but also noted that he wants to be the starting point guard on a team with the requisite big contract. That option isn’t available with the Nets. Not with James Harden.

Bob also goes to elaborate on few other things. As of right now one thing is clear from what we heard. He wants max and starting gig.

Not happening. I would love to see him suit up one more time, but even then I don't think the Nets are interested.

He doesn't want max, but he wants at least Brogdan/VanVleet money. Is he worth that to a time that needs a starting PG? Probably. Is he worth that as an at best 6th man with 2 All-star level PG options? Absolutely not.

If we're spending $20+mil in free agency this offseason, that's better served trying to bring back guys like Griffin & Brown. We can tread water with the TJ, Shamet, James level players as 3rd & 4th PG options.

As far as playing in the playoffs, I don't think he'll get much, if any run. It's in his best interest to make sure he's healthy in FA. From the Nets perspective, him being healthy is a potential S&T chip this summer. I also do not believe a rusty Dinwiddie gives you much more than James, Shamet, Brown or TJ in limited minutes. I expect that Guard depth to be very matchup & hit hand dependent in the playoffs.

Would love to see Din stay long term but it's obvious he won't since he will be out of our price range.

Think the team will focus on keeping Bruce Brown in RFA, and maybe bring over Cordinier and consider giving Mike James a short term contract on the cheap. There is also the draft/FA but I think we might try to get another C to replace DJ.

Only way I see him staying is if there is no market for him but that's highly doubtful, especially if he comes back in the playoffs and looks good.

I don't think for a minute money is an issue here. Tsai has more than enough and has Morey sitting on a first place entire season.

Dinwiddie looking to be a starter is what will be deciding factor here. It's obvious as day he'll get max from us and other teams. Thing is some other teams can give him starting job.
