Not many players will be remembered positively during the Billy King era but Joe Johnson was an awesome Net. Represented this franchise with class. professionalism and excitement.

He would have to wait in line for that honor. Jefferson, K-Mart, Carter will get their numbers retired ahead of him.

Carter should get his jersey retired immediately following his last season. Johnson...eh. I liked Joe, but Carter brought us some really fun and exciting times.

Don't get me started on JJ. Y'all can review my comments in the official "Brooklyn Backcourt" thread to see my thoughts on him.
Glad to see him (the player) back and even more happy that we're no longer paying him the highest salary in the NBA to put below average PER numbers for an entire season. But I digress...

Yeah, I was going to say if JJ gets his number retired, the Nets have a pretty low standard for what a player needs to do in order for the franchise to hang their number in the rafters.

Personally, I thought that Joe was very professional. That being said, that guy did not give a **** whether we won or lost. He was not invested. way too many games Joe was just out there earning a paycheck. I think that he avoided backlash because of his quiet nature and also for the fact that he was traded here.
The only season where I saw him put out superior effort was when he was playing alongside Pierce and KG. He played dominant basketball that season and its probably because he had guys on the roster that were pushing him and it showed. Outside of that, when I look at what Carter brought to the table and what Joe did, I don't really think Joe should have his number retired. Despite our franchise's horrible history, the only players whose numbers have been retired are all time NBA/ABA greats. It's only fitting that Vince have his number retired. His numbers while wearing a Nets jersey were excellent 23ppg 5rebs 4asts 1stl 21 PER rating in 5 seasons 54% TS it's a foregone conclusion.

I'm trying to hold back but you guys are bringing it out of me.

One of my biggest issues with JJ is that I could rarely tell if he scored 2 PTS or 22 pts on a nightly basis. His attitude was the same. Some people may say that's good because it means he's even killed. But when you fail to meat the expectations assigned to your team each year, that's being complacent about underachieving and that's unacceptable in my book.

Guess how many turnovers will the Nets commit?
Jazz defense is great.
Hope the Nets can Move the ball without all those turnovers and do a better job on P&R defense.
