Zach Lowe likes our kids. Mentions RHJ could be dealt.

7. Two fun, multi-positional young guys grow in Brooklyn

Look: I realize you're not going to watch the Nets. Given the options on League Pass every night, you probably shouldn't. They have the worst record in the league. Even hard-core fans haven't heard of half their players. They are still years, plural, from digging out of the Boston trade disaster.

But in Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and Caris LeVert, the Nets have two versatile kiddos flashing more playmaking chops than anyone expected at this point. That is the value of tossing young guys into a free-flowing system where everyone is allowed to attack scrambling defenses off the bounce. Players get to test their limits, and in some cases, discover they can do things at the NBA level that were supposedly closed off to them.

The Nets are almost fun when they throw LeVert and Hollis-Jefferson out there together, usually at the two forward spots, and let them explore.

They can both switch across at least three positions on defense, and Kenny Atkinson, Brooklyn's coach, has used both at power forward. They even unleash Hollis-Jefferson as a skinny, pointy-elbowed pick-and-roll dive man when Justin Hamilton spaces the floor as the nominal center.

LeVert is the more enticing prospect. He's bigger, with a smoother handle and jumper. Hollis-Jefferson's shot is still busted, and all indications are the Nets will listen when teams call about him, league sources say. But he's a tenacious defender who is better than you think at weirdo herky-jerky drives on offense.

I agree with Lowe in the fact that, at this point, I'm only watching Nets to see the young guys play. I can't cheer for anything else.

The team plays their best basketball when LeVert and RHJ are on the floor at the same time. Why? oh yeah, they play defense.

by the way, just in case you guys may have forgotten:

I'm not against dealing RHJ in the right trade. That being said, I'd prefer to keep him, and any other player that defends on this team. which just so happens to be Lin, LeVert, Booker, and Whitehead

everyone else is expendable.

The lineup of Dinwiddie, Kilpatrick, Levert, RHJ and Hamilton played great last night. Im not sure why Marks don't experiment that lineup a little more because that squad made great plays defensively last night and we actually got some fast break points.

Levert is looking a lot stronger than a few weeks ago

The more I watch what Kenny is doing with the kids the more I realize he is trying to stretch their limits.

During summer league, RHJ was playing point guard, now he is playing power forward. Kenny is forcing RHJ to expand his game. When RHJ final settles in as the wing defender that he is, he will be capable of handling the rock, switch onto PFs and Cs and playing adequate defense, he will be able to play some point forward, he will be able to drive to the basket. From what I can tell, RHJ is 10lbs of muscle away from being Sacramento/Charlotte Gerald Wallace, a Swiss army knife forward that can guard 1-4.

I don't know what's gonna hurt worse - watching the Nets get walloped by the team we were greater than three seasons ago, or watching the nationally televised Celtics Hawks game - the two teams billy king made great again

So I've settled on Crown Royal for tonight. Might as well drink Canadian whiskey cause they are going to own us.

I'll be pre-gaming during this game. I won't be sober to care for the horrific defense that's going to be on display tonight.

I'm hoping for a good showing from RHJ and LeVert.
