Dwight howard expected to go to the nets in 2011

http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/245329/Dwight-Howard-Expected-Magic-To-Trade-Him-To-Brooklyn-In-2011"Howard claims the Magic agreed to trade him after the 2011 lockout before he could opt out in 2012. Howard ended up opting in with the Magic in March, which took away his free agency option and led to his trade to the Los Angeles Lakers."
This article pisses me off... I STILL cant believe that howard was so dumb that he begged and tried to force a trade, then when he had the change to opt and come here he opted in.
That trade would have altered the nets future so much. Lopez would be gone, and Dwight/Dwill would have been slightly better but more importantly they would have prevented the boston trade from happening and been a bigger draw for other stars.
This team could have had harden and dwight with any kind of luck and good management instead of billy king.
but i know better, this franchise is cursed with awful luck.
anyhow, just an interesting read.... an more isnight in to how naive and dumb howard and his camp are

I hate looking back at this whole saga. You're right, if things happened differently, our future would have been drastically altered. BK set us back big... and we'll still be climbing out of that whole for a couple more years. At least there seems to be light at the end of the tunnel now though.
Deron/Harden/Dwight... stop it... only what could have been lol

I thought we knew all of this stuff already. I wonder they felt like reporting on the same subject yet again.

As much "star power" as these guys have, none of them have proven to be huge winners. Maybe I'm "becoming" a homer or believer, but I'd rather live and die with our current management and group. I find it so much easier to pull for players and teams and a culture that I like.

How has harden proven not to be a winner? his teams have consistently done damage and gotten deep in the finals. and we saw the Harden/Dwight combo make the WCF. that certainly is alot better then losing at home to a bulls team with tons of injuries.
even if all that happened is we ended up with just harden now we would be 100 times better off. Harden and 4 high schoolers is still better then what we have now. dude is the MVP of the league this year

Dwight's an ass clown.
Where we messed up is losing that 6th pick and a chance at getting James Harden. Even if D-Will fell off the bus, Harden would have become the alpha dog and have been the dominant star in the region.
Billy King is a fool.

Enough of Dwightmare. He wasted his prime years with the Lakers & Rockets instead of becoming the face of Brooklyn.
Now he's an after thought, he's Mr. Irrelevant in Atlanta.
"I’ve never been the one to say, ‘OK, I want to talk about this because it was an issue with me.’ But everyone else kind of made it a storyline. And here in Atlanta, there is no storyline." - there's no storyline because nobody cares about you anymore...

Yeah **** Dwight. My God, he held this franchise hostage for so long.
All he had to do was opt out of his damn contract and he would have signed here. What a buffoon.
And then we probably don't have to trade for Wallace either.
Either way, Billy King wold have done something stupid. But we would have been in a much better position going forward.

Dwight also said in that article that Christians get treated worse than any other religion.
WTF are you even talking about Dwight? Christians have it rough in America?
Even more annoying how Dwight pretends to be this uber religious guy, and has like 3 baby mamas.
Ok my rant on Dwight is over. Just really hate that guy.

Dwight's still a Christian? The same guy who impregnated multiple women out of wedlock and has no relationship with his bastard children?

Ah good ol DHo. I was so giddy when my Lakers traded the broken down expiring Bynum (and 2 future lotto prot 1sts) for him, even though DHo was also coming off major back surgery and was obviously not 100% when he played. So confident that he'd want to be a Laker for life and resign ASAP....
Then we went and got Nash in one of the most (Please Use More Appropriate Word) trades ever trading MORE future lotto prot picks for the broken down corpse of an old man. We thought Nash and DHo were gonna run PnR all day long and be draining 3s or dunking on fools. Instead DHo doesnt want to PnR and wanted to be a post player like Hakeem and Nash gets career ending injury like 5 games into the season. Thus the season went to immediate ****.
**** broken down Kobe then rides DHo like he was some scrub (similar to how CP3 treats DJ i'd imagine) and basically ran him out of town. DHo wanted us to amnesty the crippled injured Kobe (burst Achilles tendon) or he walks, we refused and thus we began our glorious run in stealth tanking.
Alot of Laker fans are butthurt and angry at DHo. When in reality our FO screwed up their moves so bad (Nash trade, didnt trade DHo or Pau before they were FAs) and handled the Kobe situation in an utterly inept manner (hey here's a 2 year 50 mil extension before u prove to be healhty!). BUT if the objective was tanking while selling tickets to the Kobe "Circus Chucking Freakshow" Bryant, then we did an amazing job

I always did wonder if DHo woulda stayed if we had amnestied the useless post injury Kobe. Doubtful, he always did strike me as a duplicitous bitch, but anyone with a brain would hardly blame him for not wanting to get out of there.

And many people have nothing to check their biases.
I bet if you asked him how many Muslims are attacked vs. Christians, he wouldn't know.
In his circles (who primarily care about what happens to Christians), the Christian experience is prioritized over that of others.
What's weird is that if you go to a place like Egypt, you'll see Coptic Christians and Muslims working in concert to protect each other from outside forced and persecution. That would never happen in America. The US has a pseudo-Christian social structure that assumes its setup as normative and the only proper way to maintain religion in society.

Lol, as a practicing Christian myself, Dwight thinking that's Christians are the most oppressed is just wrong.
He was probably saying that being Christian doesn't automatically put you in the position of the oppressor. Because there is some truth to the belief that certain people defame Christianity and simultaneously portray them as racist ultra-Conservatives... it's like when you hear "Christian", you think of a Conservative family that uses Christianity as an excuse for their own prejudices (I.e. The Bible allegedly saying that gay marriage is "wrong"). But people like Dwight, who is Black and undoubtedly dealt with racial discrimination (like virtually all racial minorities in America), are likely just frustrated being put in the box of what is stereotypical of Christians.
But, he still shouldn't have b*tched about it because it makes him look like the bigot.
And, and Nyce pointed out, people tend to prioritize their own perspective and the ones of people in their own circle. If you're a young white woman who has grown up in an all white area and have had little to no contact with minorities in your lifetime.... unfortunately it's likely that your perspective of feminism would center around issues that only help white women. Instead of showing empathy towards illegal immigrant women (instead, listening to their boyfriend/husband who like to assert that illegals are "bad") and Black women who deal with unnecessary micro-aggression and backhand racism, or even Asian women who deal with always being objectified, they focus on their own perspectives.

A lot of women of color are starting to lash out against this. Some of the commentary that I saw stemming from the women's march a few weeks back was very eye opening about the divide in american feminism and who many so called feminists really only give a rat's ass about. as one woman put it, "these women are out here making this about their pussies, when I'm worried about these same police officers they're high fiving shooting me to death"

And I think they are right for getting upset about it because it gets people to pay more attention to the issue.
It's like... a white woman feels oppression when white men (typically where white women refuse to marry or date outside their race) treat them like sh*t and turn around and put down minority women because of their own oppression instead of empathizing with each other. Many Caucasian females are not like this at all but it remains an issue in regards to American feminism.

You're just wrong. Dwight's right from a global perspective (clown tho he is in some respect).
<<In early November, German Chancellor Angela Merkel declared that Christianity is “the most persecuted religion in the world.” Although met with predictable criticism, Rupert Short’s recent research report for Civitas UK confirms Merkel’s claim — we may not want to hear it, but Christianity is in peril, like no other religion. While this is a contest no one wants to win, Short shows that “Christians are targeted more than any other body of believers.” Short is the author of the recently published Christianophobia: A Faith Under Attack. He is concerned that “200 million Christians (10 percent of the global total) are socially disadvantaged, harassed or actively oppressed for their beliefs.”>>

You can say that Christians are being targeted in the Middle East sure. I mean everyone is being targeted in places like Syria. It's a war zone.
But to say like Dwight did that Christians are being targeted in America is unbelievably stupid. He never said anything about a "global perspective."
