Kyrie Irving.

It probably does not happen this off-season, maybe not the next one either, but this loss makes it more likely that Kyrie Irving considers signing with or asking for a trade to the Brooklyn Nets.

Kyrie is a West Orange native and grew up a huge Nets fan. Sharing a mutual friend with him, the friend has indicated in multiple occasions that Kyrie would like a chance to lead the Brooklyn Nets to a championship.

I call on Sean Marks and the rest of his brain trust to focus on planning to acquire Kyrie Irving. It's clear that his presence would change the entire culture and structure of the team; the financial benefits are also one that cannot be ignored. I think Yormark needs to go hard on his pitch as well; the man has been mediocre to average in his job and this is his chance to earn his stripes.

To conclude, it's clear that Kyrie Irving and LeBron James are not the best fit to be playing with each other. LeBron needs more of a pass first point guard with him that defends better. Kyrie is much better off as the focal point on offense... let him run ISO at all times. If the Nets' front office puts their mind to it, they can be in good position to get their new franchise player.

yeah Kyrie isnt leaving a finals team to play for the nets. nor is he anywhere near good enough to lead the nets to a title. i mean before lebron they were picking top 3 in the lotto every year. kyrie is an all-star but he is far from the centerpiece of a title team. he isnt a top 5 PG let alone top 5 player

dont get me wrong... id love to have kyrie but cant see him considering us and he wouldnt really change us much from a W/L standpoint

I made a similar assertion about KD and Westbrook not being able to play together and getting increasingly frustrated with each other. And most of the responses shunned my assertion.

Just watch, if the Cavs don't win a Finals the next two years, somebody is gonna want out. I do know for a fact that Kyrie doesn't wanna be a Cavalier forever.

They're not a good fit. They won only 51 games this year. They're far from happy.

You sound like one of those people who said I was the dumbest person alive for saying that KD was leaving OKC and that him and Russ didn't like each other.

You should read Kyrie and Lebrons comments on eachother. They are a good fit, if they werent a good fit they wouldnt have made the finals 3 years in a row, embarrassing the eastern conference each time and leading Cleveland to their first championship in decades basically as a duo.

I thought that Durant would leave for the Warriors if they lost, just like everyone else in the league. Many people also thought that Russ and KD disliked playing with eachother. Those arent unique revelations by any means.

I honestly hope that your mutual friend isnt pulling your leg and is completely right about everything he says. I would obviously be ecstatic about him being here.

However the Nets dont have anything close to the assets needed to aqcuire Kyrie and also that let him ISO at all times quote is a horrible way to win basketball games. Maybe if Lebron leaves in 2018 or the Cavs trade him for westbrook or something then we could sign him in free agency, but a lot of things have to happen before then and even if what you say about Kyrie is true, players change their minds all the time and at this point this is pure speculation IMO.

NBA finals results mean that we can take our time to build this team because these will be the finals for the next 2-3 years. We can be patient in our development of the young guys. I'll say in 3 years we should be good enough.

everyone predicted KD leaving. that wasnt tough to predict. Kyrie might leave too, just not to come to the nets

Again like 90% of this board and the GB had durant leaving last year. some even said it would be to the warriors. that wasnt hard to predict. i myself put it at a 0% chance he wiould be back in okc.

Your join date is February of this year, but Durant went to the Warriors the prior summer. How is this possible unless you were here previously as Net Sentence or someone else?

Eh... Too far down the line to interest me. Kyrie won't leave as long as Lebron is in Cleveland, and the Cavaliers will be contenders for as long as Lebron is playing (barring injury) which could be anywhere from 4-8 years...

I agree that Kyrie is probably going to want to leave Cleveland once LeBron does. Who wouldn't?

But why come to the Nets?
