Again he has a higher bbiq than Stat because of this he can be better imo.

I'm not trying to poo poo on The Fro's athleticism at all. This kid is going to be a beast.

But STAT had waaaaaaay more hops and was a violent dunker. Jarrett throws the hammer down but when STAT jumped up it was ugly for whoever was on the receiving end

Bills, Stat could leap, this kid is 19 and not in the D'Antoni system. He's in a structured system that enhances all his traits, but limits his strengths, the SnR to the rim. If he were in that Suns system, you'd see it.

I'll never forget how Stat was compared to Ben Wallace and spoke how defense wins championships and how every analyst said on the defensive side he's ready and a man among boys but offensively he may struggle. Ends up wit Joe Johnson, Shawn Marion who doesn't get enough credit and Steve Nash. Stat turned into Stat when Nash, Joe, Shawn got going. B/c all it did was open the lane for him.

Btw Bills, that's why I compared him to Baby Stat wit D. B/c had D'Antoni grabbed this kid? in 2002-03? He's Stat, he have him take the crazy shots, dunk, ally. Here it's not that. Here it's about perfecting your craft. Jarrett Allen can SnR dunk, but we're developing his post, passing, outside shooting game and defense. On Phoenix it wit Stat it was run, run, RUN! rebound, dunk, shoot! run, run, RUN! box rebound! pass it, 3! RUN RUN RUN! screen! roll hard! 30 pts. 7 rebs. But his man drops 25.

Also Stat had hops at 6'8. This kid is 7 foot and has hops. And still hasn't developed his leg muscles, or upper body.

well said. the Nets are trying to make this kid become a multi tool player.

I may sound like an apologist for Marks and Kenny, but I really love what they have done with these guys, from the basketball side to the training side. Wait til Allen gets locked into the gym over the next two summers. he will look like a machine.

No doubt in my mind he should be starting already and getting consistent 25mpg plus.

We all know the kid needs to add weight and get stronger but don't let that blind you for what he does ALREADY at 19.

He is a constant threat to opposing offenses as a rim protector and very smart PnR player already. Sets solid screens, moves off the ball good, makes good decisions, etc.

Imagine 3 years from now when the fro is around RHJ/Levert's age around 22/23... the sky is the limit.

For those keeping track at home, Allen is shooting a very cool 43% from 3.

He hit a COLD BLOODED 3 in that OKC game. Combine that with those big time FTs he hit in OT against the Wizards, the kid is showing he can stay composed in crunch time.

Dude absolutely cleaned up the glass against Adams too. Battling like that without the core strength really shows the type of guy Allen is. He's quiet and shy but the guy is a competitor. Those are the players that make it.

If Fro ever gets to the strength level of Steven Adams, I'd fear for my life if I had to play against him.

He's going to become a two way player.

Sean Marks is an A+ drafter.

Allen is easily the best building block we have on this team hands down.

People have thrown around the Jarrett Allen and Tyson Chandler comparisons . I'll just put this out there. I see Tim Duncan qualities in the kid. He's the Nets one really untouchable asset IMO.

It's not just his incredible development and skills, it's also his demeanor and poise.

I think that you're reaching a bit since Duncan was skilled more offensively coming out of college.

that being said. Allen is showing a 2 way player skillset

Allen is so young you can't properly calculate his upside, he could be KG or Anthony Randolph ... (for those who scoff his PER is higher than KGs when he was 19)

where's the homey Ror at? he was heated that the Nets picked Allen over OG.

Safe to say here that both teams made excellent picks, but Allen gives the Nets a legitimate modern day center with frightening upside. this kid is showing off footwork that I had no idea that he had. I don't see Tyson chandler comparisons at all. Allen has a way softer touch, has shown flashes of 3pt range and some moves.

His movement after the screen and away from the ball is getting really good. its come to a point now where you can see him calling for the ball when he's wide open. compare this to November when he was fumbling passes and what not.

Allen was amazing last night. This guys was supposed to be an unskilled rim roller and shot blocker but we’ve seen him score with great footwork in the post, shoot floaters with both hands and he’s shooting 42% from 3 and making midrange jumpers with ease.

It’s amazing that he can even talk about being the face of the franchise in his rookie year. Lots of people thought he would still be in the G League.

Plus he has the best hair in the NBA by far.

He could be the Duncan to Atkinson’s Popovich. How crazy would that be? I think it’s amazing that we’re even having the convo
