Bos Fan Here: Shane Larkin -- What Can We Expect?

Post#1 » by GonzoLays » Fri Jul 21, 2017 1:43 am

What's up guys. I have only seen Larkin play a couple of times and really don't remember much about him or his game. He signed with Celtics and I wonder if he even belongs in the league. What are his strengths and weaknesses? Ceiling is career backup, maybe? Is he unselfish? Is he particularly good at anything?

Thanks in advance.

IF he is a started you are going to be disappointed. as a backup you'll get solid play for the most part. he isnt selfish but isnt an offense creater either. he is more of a scoring PG although not a chucker.

i liked him when he was here, he just wasnt suited to start. he is a solid shooter despite the low percentage he shot here... he was kind of forced to do more then he was capable.

id take him as a backup pg

Good energy guy off the bench, a lot of athleticism and plays tough d. He had a sick alley oop a few days ago (he was the dunker, not the passer). Kind of a poor man's Nate Robinson, mostly because he doesn't have nearly the same strength.

You should probably ask Knicks fans.

Would he be good as a third pg off bench after IT and Smart
Bet with Stillwater Celtics will finish 6th or higher in ECF Standings Regular Season(17-18). [WON]

Hes really fast, but he doesn't have good instincts. He has no idea what He's going to do when he gets to the other end of the court but he gets there in a hurry.

As a third PG he will be great. He's a great energy guy and super fast
Spread Em and Dead em.
-Sad DLO is gone
-Allen will become LobCity DJ
-Kyrie will be top 3 for MVP if we get to 50+ wins, he will average 27ppg, 7apg, shooting 50-40-90

He's fast. Better off as a secondary handler because he's got very little PG instincts. He can shoot it a little and that's about it.

He's too small to play defense, he doesn't really know how to shoot over length and he isn't anything special. Sean Marks didn't see anything special either hence why he ended up in Europe.

He'll get into the lane but as others have said he's more of a scoring point guard.

I think he's a good fit for Boston's second unit because he'll get them to play at a faster pace than their other PG's.

He is really fast. He has a lot of offensive moves and plays very well in a uptempo system. His lack of size, wingspan and strength is really what makes him a weak candidate to be something in the NBA. He is also not a good enough shooter to make up for what he lacks. So like everyone say, a back up is his perfect role.

He's fast as well but has a habit of getting out of control and in trouble in the lane. He also is outmatched defensively versus nearly any opponent, kind of like IT.

He's decent if he's just playing a few back up mins a night.

Speed + low IQ is a terrible combination. You have no idea what you're doing, and you have less time to make decisions. I was extremely excited for his speed before he joined the nets, but quickly learned it works against him.
