Embiid was clearly extra motivated.

He's like 19, right?

Not sure what you mean? You mean points Embiid scored?

In the first game he was 12 of 17, 33 points in 27 minutes, that's pretty brutal

Nets' Strength of Schedule ranking by month

Oct-Nov - 8th (1st 10 games relatively easy; next 10 games extremely hard)
Dec - 6th
Jan - 20th
Feb - 12th
Mar - 18th

Nets need to get a good start because in mid November, the schedule is extremely rough for a couple of weeks.

Nov 10 - at Portland
Nov 11 - at Jazz
Nov 14 - Celtics at Barclays
Nov 17 - Jazz
Nov 19 - Warriors
Nov 22 - at Cleveland
Nov 24 - Portland
Nov 26 - at Memphis
Nov 27 - at Houston

Last game of season - how fitting - against Celtics in Boston

Portland & Houston are games we can steal. They don't have good perimeter defense, so if we can take advantage of that and our Defense can step up and keep us in the game, we can steal at least one of those 3 games.

To be honest every month is hard. there is no team we should be a lock to beat or clearly favored over. we play some bad teams but we are have some of the least talent.

lets just enjoy watching these young kids grow as nets

I'm not too convinced we have the least talent compared to:

Indiana:

Joseph / Collison
Oladipo / Stephenson
Bogdanovic / G. Robinson
T. Young / Sabonis / TJ Leaf
Turner / Anibogu

Chicago:

Dunn / Grant / Payne
Wade / Lavine (out)
Valentine / Zipster
Markkanen / Portis
Lopez / Felico

Atlanta:

Schroeder / Delaney
Bazemore / Bellineli
T. Prince / Bembry / Babbit
J. Collins / Illyasova / Muscala
Dedmon / Miles Plumlee

Had we inherited each of those rosters by this point, we'd be pegged to be a 15 win team.

JFC.

Welp, we'll be in the hole straight out of the gate. :nonono: no way around it. That is a brutal stretch.

I see possible wins at Memphis, Utah. Slow paced teams that will struggle to score some nights. Lillard and Russell don't like each other. That Portland game should be a fun one.

Yeah, I don't see the Jazz as formidable without Hayward and Hill. Same thing for a .500 Portland team that didn't improve their roster and lost Crabbe. I also see this year as the one where Memphis finally takes a dip (Every year, I think Memphis's roster looks creaky and every year, they finish above .500 somehow).

Utah: Lost Hayward, Hill, Diaw. Added Thabo, Jerbeko, Mitchell, Lydon.

Memphis has Tony Allen unsigned, Green is unsigned, McLemore their only FA signing is out with a broken foot. Lost Z-Bo, Carter. Added Ivan Rabb, Dillon Brooks.

Not sure how we can't compete against them in a regular season.

We blew the doors off of Memphis the last time we played them.

Would be interesting how Moz does against Gasol.

If Parsons is healthy they'd be better tho.

Sounds like something that belongs to the Marks thread. Truly incredible.

It's too bad we didn't have a chance to experience possibly the all time worst defensive lineup of Vasquez/Bogs/JHar/Scola/JHam

might as well not even run down on defense if they're going to attempt that line up
