How patient are you?

Hi,

OK, I am a secret NY lover but usually spend a lot of time in Brooklyn (Park Slope.)

I used to love the Coleman/Jayson Williams type teams. Always very talented.

I would love to support the NYC teams...but I do so secretly for the Nets and just give my condolences and empathy to the Knicks.

So, realistically will the Nets ever turnaround the culture to have a winning organisation like the majors? How? What timeframe?

P.S I loved the coaching/style of the team last year, but there was sadly a lack of talent.

Hoping Lin stays healthy too.

They got some very good players in the off season. I'd suggest hanging around. It's going to be a very fun ride.

Markinson has been pretty good.

Lets hope it's gonna come to fruition in the 2nd year.

This is at least a 4 year process. Team culture and work ethic expectations were overhauled and re established in year 1, as well as multiple moves in acquiring talent with upside to compensate for our lack of draft picks. We now have a young talent pool consisting of:

D'Angelo Russell
Caris LeVert
Allen Crabbe
Rondae Hollis-Jefferson
Isiah Whitehead
Spencer Dinwiddie
Jared Allen

mixed in with veterans who are all hard workers.

Year 2 will see continued player development as well higher expectations for improvement individually and as a team. I think we'll surprise the general NBA landscape now that we've added more shooting to a team that operates at a high pace, high long distance volume style of play. That being said, these guys are young, and we will be adding to that with Toronto's pick in the 2018 draft, and resuming control of our own pick in the 2019 draft. Don't expect things to really pop off until the year after next, realistically.

Things are sloowly turning for the better. Brooklyn's GM Sean Marks hasn't had lottery picks to make his job easier but has done a great job finding talent wherever possible. In 2 years Brooklyn can start to make noise as far as having their own pick but in the meantime they'll have a 1st and 2nd round pick from Toronto in next year's draft as MDB said.

They also have a 2nd round pick coming to them from Indiana..
We get the 61st pick (I know) it if they don't make the playoffs,..
if they do rinse and reapeat until 2023 when it becomes a unprotected 2nd rounder.

-Progress is a slow process and we aint got nothing but time

im extremely patient as long as we do it the right way.... build a culture first and look for long term sustainability, not just a 4-5 year run.

if we go 0-82 the next 3 seaonss i woudlnt care as long as we looked as great as we did last year from a culture and development standpoint.

realistically im looking at 20-21 to start making wins the goal. if we can win before that great, but for me thats irrelevant these first few seasons

Well considering I don't even count the Nets rebuild to officially start until we have our first rounders back...I'm literally Buddha. Can't expect a championship from the Knicks so I'm banking on the Nets to bring New York basketball to respectability.

The rebuild is on... and it's on like donkey kong! lol. Changing the culture is the single most important building block for a rebuild. Trying to change a ball club's culture once they have their picks back is too late. I trust in Marks. He has hardly put a foot wrong since stepping into his job. Getting our picks back will not be the icing on the cake. It will be the sugar in the recipe.

The rebuilding has already started. Getting the picks back will just be another coup for Marks
