Which is worse? Admitting this now or admitting he failed at landing CP3?

Nice to know Deron was Plan C, yet was treated like the second coming.

I also like how Billy King said in the interview that had he of known Pierce wouldn't resign, he wouldn't have done the deal. Really Billy? That's where you put your foot down?

Rot in hell.

Nets had the most assets in the league at the time.

People expected him to turn the franchise around a similar way Houston and Boston did it. Tons of firsts, cap room, we had a Top 3 prospect after coming up short in the John Wall lottery.

But nah, he ended up landing Plan C. All along we thought Deron was Plan B.

I guess he was talking about the year before?

Before CP3 landed in LA?

Makes no sense that the Clips would trade him.

I actually believe him. I just find it insane that he's bragging about how **** a job he did. Then for his "could have beens" to be a near CP3 trade and resigning Pierce instead of not including all the draft picks/swaps with Atlanta and the Boston trade all together...... I want to slap the man.

Billy King is known for lying his ass off, fyi.

He also never approached Utah about Deron. Utah's GM brought up the subject to him, which should have been an immediate red flag.

He also claimed that the reason Deron didn't get along with the rest of the team was because he was injured during training camp. Bull-cocky!

He's not lying, Thorn looked into trading for CP3 to better place themselves for Lebron James, and Billy King continued the talks as far as I'm aware. If the Nets had gotten John Wall, CP3 would have been traded. I'm not sure if the package that landed Deron was ever offered to the Hornets, however. But I have no idea why he would even bring it up, it's not a good look no matter how you look at it.

I think the deal we gave Deron is more than enough for CP3, remember CP3 and Deron were almost equal at the time, 1A and 1B as the top point guards of the league. Considering what these "franchise players" are getting in trades today, we definitely overpaid for Deron but we would of been a heck of alot better off with CP no question.

Billy King is like Donald Trump. When he opens his mouth to speak, its best to just assume what he says is untrue until the facts corroborate everything.

King's justification for the Gerald Wallace trade was outright mental gymnastics. This is the man who tried to hide the fact that he offered pick swaps to Atlanta in a salary DUMP trade for Joe Johnson.

there is no defense for Billy King.
