uh, yeah. he needs to be shooting from that spot on the floor all the time.

time to earn that paycheck brother and get those hands dirty on defense. look at his arms, there's no excuse for him not to defend. hustle and get those wings up in someone's face

if Russell can at least hustle and disrupt shots (which he has been doing), Crabbe can do the same. I don't expect perfection but effort goes a long way on the defensive end.

Ummm......so if this is true, does that mean he was a good defender for the first two seasons, really wanted to come to Brooklyn but was upset the Blazers matched the offer sheet so he slacked off and now would be totally motivated?

They'd be really nice.

Btw Ernie Johnson listed us in his up and coming teams in the East during the upcoming Open Court episode during premiere week. His list was Philly, Milwaukee, Miami, Brooklyn and Detroit.

You should already know how the rest of the panel went. McHale definitely doesn’t know modern basketball. Like at all.

If someone took ten minutes to objectively watch this team play they'd say the same.

They'll all act like they knew the Nets were going to be good 3 years from now. watch.

Have any of you guys bet any Philly fans yet on which team will have the better record by the end of the year? So much glowing over Philly, it gets me sick.

This team will surely have it's ups and downs but I think we'll be just as intriguing as Philly. I was genuinely upset we couldn't get Reddick but let's see how the Crabbe bet pays off in the long term.

Yea people are getting a bit carried away with Philly (not on here, just in general) but I still wouldn't take that bet. I laugh when people say Philly could be the #4 seed but I definitely see them finishing over .500. Whereas the nets would need everything to click perfectly to be a .500 team.

No matter how talented the Sixers are, I just can't see a team that's practically starting 3 rookies get to .500. The Sixers over/under of 42.5 looks like a definite under.

Of those 3 rookies, only Fultz is a true rookie. Embiid isnt actually a rookie and Simmons is 21. Fultz being a 19 year old rookie is the only guy one who might need another year. Then you got Reddick and Rodriguez as vets, and guys like Holmes, Covington and Saric taking another step in their own development... Its not just that they have good rookies. They're role players are also young and improving.

Baring injuries, I don't see how the Sixer's can't win another 15 games this year.

Fultz is a true rookie. Simmons is technically a rookie too because he hasn't played any NBA games, though he did at least experience the NBA life for one year. Embiid is almost a rookie too because he only played 31 NBA games so far. Saric is a sophomore. Rodriguez is no longer on the team. I think the biggest issue is that the main distributor -- in this case, Point Forward Simmons -- is a rookie and that will cause the biggest problems. Even a team like the TWolves, with Towns, Wiggins, Lavine, and Rubio, could only win 31 games last year. Sure the Sixers are in the crappy East but 41 wins - a 15 win jump -- is a tall order.

Well, just my opinion.

That’s never happened before, though. Even the Thunder lost 50+ games with Westbrook, Durant, Scott Brooks.

Fultz has been terrible because he’s a rookie. Simmons will put up raw impressive numbers but is he going to be efficient? No. Was Ingram any different? Russell?

Embiid is going to help them stay competitive but he’s more fragile than Brook Lopez was for us and the narrative for Embiid somehow is different. People expect him to return and dominate with 30+ minutes. How? He’s just finally practicing 5 on 5s for the first time all summer. No factors of rust and scouting reports? He’s not a mystery to the league anymore and he will have to adjust to competitive basketball when teams take them seriously.

I think the Sixers will reach 30+ wins but they are in the same situation as us when we talk playoffs, IMO. People are expecting Saric, Embiid, Fultz, Simmons to play ROY basketball simultaneously will be disappointed. That has never happened and the Sixers have not shown anything to convince me otherwise.

Embiid will most likely be in and out of the lineup all year.

That can't be a very good thing
