The game is tomorrow night so the Yankees will be playing the deciding game 5.

Start DMC, but only play him for like 10 minutes all game. Split the minutes up for Crabbe and Caris. Seems kind of obvious.
But I think that starting unit has shaped up nicely. I don't know necessarily if I want to take Carrol out of it yet.

I'd cut Lin's mins (16 mins, start 1st and 3rd, split remaining PG mins with DLo/Dim) and give more run to a DLo, Crabbe, Levert, RHJ, Allen lineup (DA FUTURE!) when Embiid is sitting. I wanna see if DLo can run an offense and see how the team does with a long speed lineup. Might not be enough shooting if Levert cant stick em, but hey its preseason time to experiment.
Also need DLo to get some decent run guarding Fultz. We all know Lin can hang 1v1 D against elite PGs and bother them some, DLo needs some experience guarding PGs who are offensively gifted to further his own personal development.
If DLo looks utterly useless against offensively minded PGs over the season, then thats a huge black mark on him being able to stick at PG in the future.

Just wanted to say, Lin's comments to Kenyon made him one of my favorite players in the league now. I hope and wish for you all to have great growth and success this season.
Ps, Jamaican/Haitian and I LOVE the dreadhawk.

PG defense doesnt matter much in the NBA. obviusly you'd like to see him do well there, but his offensive production will be what determines his long term position

I don't expect Russell to go out there locking guys down on D. I just want him to continue what he's been doing: active hands in the passing lanes, hustling, continue to work on not going into lala land mentally when the ball isn't on his side of the court, and forcing his assignment into tough shots. that's all he has to do. I can't expect him to be Lin or LeVert on the perimeter but effort matters.

Jarrett Allen is going to get another good test. He got some decent minutes the other day vs. Whiteside, now Embiid.

A PG who lets his opposing number blow by him at will is a massive detriment to his team. Either DLo picks up cheap reach fouls as he's unable to stay in front of his man, or constantly forcing his bigs to rotate early (to cutoff easy penetration) and scrambling the defense into tatters. While expecting DLo to have lockdown D is a bridge too far, he cant be allowed to constantly embarass himself.
Now its not every night u face an elite scoring PG, but its important to have someone who can at stymie an avg level PG like a Reggie Jackson, Mike Teague, Dennis Schroeder, or JRue Holiday from dropping 25-30 efficient points like nothing. While Lin is no defensive stopper, at the very least he'll make his opponent earn those points, likely inefficiently.
Regardless DLo needs reps at PG, whether Lin stays or not, the FO needs to know what direction they need to take with DLo.

No need to cross match. I like our D man to man against them. I think cross matching this early into the season creates confusion usually based off the pace of both teams will be aiming to establish. Guys like Fultz and Simmons need to show an outside shot first.
