Introducing Nets Forum Special Ranks...Congratulations Paradise!

Hello Nets board,

For those of you who have ventured across to other team boards or the General OTB, you may have noticed that some users have "special rank" titles under their avatars or usernames. Instead of having titles such as "Ballboy", "Veteran", or "RealGM" which reflect a particular posting milestone, the titles are replaced with custom ranks reflecting a user's defining attribute or characteristic on their respective board.

The Nets forum brass has decided to implement rank titles on our board to recognize those who have positively contributed to our community over the years with a defining attribute/style as well as some of our older veteran posters who have ridden with us and the Nets over the years.

For each round of special ranks (which will occur roughly every month) each member will be allowed to submit only one nomination, either for themself or another poster. When submitting your nomination, message all of the mods on the same PM and state your case. At this time, we'll be accepting PMs for special ranks for November.


It is rather fitting that the inaugural special rank designation begins with the start of another NBA season. Coincidentally, the Nets board will recognize Paradise with a special rank of "Nets Board Game Thread Creator".

Paradise's consistency in creating game threads over the years has been nothing short of impressive. Even when I've suggested that he take a break from creating game threads since he doesn't get paid for doing this, he's never let up. Not only will Paradise receive a special rank, but he will oversee game thread creation for the season and allow us to sign-up to create game thread for games of our choosing.

Lastly, rather than accepting the generic special rank title, Paradise would like the board to nominate a custom title for him and have us vote on it. Whichever nominated title receives the most votes will be the rank title assigned to him.

Yes, that was (and still is) the intent. Some personal stuff has delayed the process but we'll be getting back to this asap.
