I felt like this post needed to be made.

that win versus cleveland wasn't a fluke.

the guys on our team work hard, have specific skills.

i think tonight was the turning point. but the players have to prove it.

The Nets were down hard going into this game. and they went to work.

i'm going to risk posting this, based on the strength that hopefully the Nets believe this also.

they aren't **** ing around.

I wouldn't call them a good team yet, but they are competitive team with a lot of good players. Going into this season I was hoping they could have similar success to the Knicks D'antoni team pre-Melo, and that's still what I'm hoping for over the season. Close to .500 record with a ton of shooting/scoring allowing them to occasionally punch above their weight class.

That said if RHJ and Carroll keep playing the way they are, and DLo keeps putting up the numbers he is. They could be even better than that. This looks like it's going to be a very entertaining season.

we have arrived, that was just statement win #1. we're a scrappy, fast paced team with a potential star in DLO. we just have to pick it up defensively and get more opportunities to play other teams

You all know I've been harping on this all Summer, very obvious to me that this was CLEARLY a playoff team with Lin in the face of all the experts insisting it was mostly a pipe dream (elite speed, 3s, with Lin among best backcourts in NBA) and even without him they may just about be a .500 team .

The culture and mindset of the players on this team is great to see. You can see every player genuinely rooting for one another, and because of the healthy mindset they're all battling hard out there. Oh...and the ball movement is great to see too.

I believe in our core players + the coaching staff. I'd be disappointed if we only win 28-30 games in this conference if we're mostly healthy to be honest. We're not outrageously young like Phoenix.

Been an Advocate at this for a while now. I've sticked to my guns even when I was wrong on my standing prediction from last year (Lin's injury destroyed my prediction). I even said, RHJ is a PF, Brook will shoot 3, ETC. But I stopped posting in this board just because I'm busy and there is no need for someone tell me i'm delusional. Right now what I'm saying is we are definitely a 40 win team.

Only thing I care about is staying healthy.

Atkinson is making us play above our talent level, that much is clear.

I wouldn't bet us winning 40 games cause were gonna get murdered by western conference teams.

Low 30s is totally doable and will be awesome improvement. So happy with what I've seen from this team so far.

This has been a fun team to watch. The crowd was rocking tonight and most important they won so the casual fans that came to see the Cavs left seeing a BROOKLYN win.

Can't say they're good unless they make the playoffs and that's what 6 months away? I'm just enjoying the show.

Well I can't say we have a horrid team. This team is definitely entertaining to watch. I love that everyone is showing their hustle.

Hopefully we can tighten up on the defensive end and make crisper passes.

We're competitive... its looks good but I think we're competitive and capable.

We need more games to really assess.

Honestly there's no reason why Eastern Conf. Playoffs would be out of the picture. We can be a team fighting for the last two spots. I'm not afraid of Boston or Cle(assumed 1 & 2).... just play baby!

It's games like last night where we start to see c the light at the end of this long tunnel after the blueprint for greatness era/error

But games like the Orlando game the night before also reminds me to proceed with caution

This is going to be a fun team to watch all year

The thing is 1-9 we are pretty darn good

Also Kenny needs to continue to improve as a coach.

That shouldn't go unnoticed. He's doing great everything else blah blah etc... it's his in game adjustments, rotations that need seasoning and a touch up.

I think we can compete for a playoff spot for sure. I don't want us to get too high from the Cavs win. What I take from our win last night that is we compete well, share the ball well and have the grit to stay in the game when the going gets tough. That matters quite a bit but we gotta bust our balls every game. This is no time to sit on our laurels and think we're better than we are.

I will always be haunted by how bad we looked in the Sixers game.

Yes - and a number of players were able to hit shots in clutch time (under 5 minutes).

Fun game against the Cavs for sure.

No Dlo, down like 11-2 or something in the first quarter.... totally resisted the urge to shut it off and go grade papers or something. Watched it and felt the drive that these guys have too. They're special this year. Finally this is the light at the end of the tunnel that was the 12-16 Brooklyn Nets. I think it's going to be up from here. Can't wait to see this team continue to flourish as the years go on. Pray for everyone to be healthy and no major injuries or setbacks.

I mean don't get me wrong. we're going to still have rough nights like the Orlando game and the young guys are going to do stupid things that will cost us late in games. but we can play and compete, that was not an easy game we won last night and guys stepped up to the plate.
