I think a lot of people had this game circled on their calendar. Nance is out with a broken hand so logically you would expect Kuzma or Randle to start, but it's possible Luke tries to keep the 2nd unit intact and starts Deng or Brewer. Regardless, curious to see how RHJ/DMC hold up defensively.
I don't think I have to say anything about D'angelo's return to LA. I think the team will rally around him.
LET'S GO@!

Crabs are so scary. Will be interesting if we see any changes for this game. Kenny was not happy with the offense or defense against the baby Suns. He doesn't panic but he does adjust if things aren't working.

Yeah I think Deng is in for Nance as fake starter, so more minutes for Kuzma, Randle he's playing well at C in the second unit.
Lakers are also in b2b, but played well last night against Portland.

Watched LA last night against Portland. Came down to the wire. They could have tied it if Kuzma's shot fell with .07 left after Lillard hit a late 3 pointer to put Port ahead. Lopez had a strong game, Kuzma is going to be a problem to defend, Ball didn't do much, and unless they are really tired, they'll compete.
DRuss has to try not to do too much and we to defend Kuzma, or hope he's cold (but he drives in for a lot of his buckets). This can go either way.

we wouldn't want to do too well, that could hinder development....

They just need to show more fight and hustle than the last 2-3 games. LA might be a bit better than us talent wise but they played last night and we need it.
I hope Dlo stays away from "hero" ball and plays within the system. Need to see Dinwiddie get more PT and hopefully the 'Fro is ready to play tonight because we will need him.

Nets: Two day’s rest
Lakers: Played a nail biter last night on the road
Advantage: Nets
Let’s goooooo
Very entertaining Lakers/Trailblazer Game last night. Brook played like a star, even blocked a shot. That Kuzma kid is going to be a star someday. And Dame is Dame. Is he the first one to do the “it’s Lillard time” gesture?

They don't really have shooters, shot 22% from range last night. We could sag on Brook and make them beat us from range.

Key notes for tonight’s game:
Isaiah Whitehead has stayed back east, assigned to the Long Island Nets in advance of their season opener Saturday at NYCB LIVE, home of the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. Jacob Wiley, on a two-way contract, has traveled to Los Angeles with the Nets and will be active for tonight’s game.
AT CENTER: RONDAE
With Jarrett Allen out on Tuesday, a stretch of small ball for the Nets was a necessity. Allen, starting center Timofey Mozgov and Tyler Zeller are the only Nets taller than 6-foot-8.
In this case, it meant 6-foot-7 Rondae Hollis-Jefferson at center as the Nets were storming back from an 18-point deficit.
“It really brought us back in the game,” said coach Kenny Atkinson. “Obviously it’s our small ball lineup. with DeMarre (Carroll) at the 4 we get a lot more shooting. We’re faster. We do suffer on the boards. But I felt like we’re down 15, we had to try something different. And you’ll see that periodically, especially because we’re down some bigs. It’s a lineup you could see sporadically.”
“Rondae, him playing Tyson Chandler or Alex Len, his length is so long and he’s so active that we don’t feel like we’re really punished in the post,” said Atkinson. “Teams don’t post up as much and take advantage of those. And Rondae’s a really good rebounder. I do like that. I think it gives us an offensive advantage and we don’t get hurt that much defensively. If there’s one concern about that, it’s the rebounding factor. That’s where you get hurt.”
ABOUT THE LAKERS
The Los Angeles Lakers are 3-5 heading into their first meeting of the season with the Nets after dropping a 113-110 final to Portland Thursday night. Former Net Brook Lopez had a season-high 27 points for the Lakers in the loss.
The Lakers have been going to the rim for scoring, leading the league in points in the paint with 55.3 and second in fast break points with 15.5. They’re less successful on the perimeter, 26th in 3-point attempts per game and 30th in percentage (29.8).
